How do you feel about a child being taking to foster care for a pot smoking mom?

I have heard recently about a 3 year old child who got put into foster care because her mom was smoking weed. After put in foster care the child was rap.ed by the foster parent. The mother was not leaving her pot out for the child to get.. She was just told on by a spying neighbor. Personally I think its ridiculous to take a baby away for something that is legal in two states and medical in almost all. Just want other opinions.. Feel free to say whats on your mind :)

What I don’t like is that people don’t take having a child seriously. It’s not a toy and taking care of it isn’t an option. It’s a must. Some people don’t comprehend that until it’s too late. With that said, a mother’s love for her child cannot be substituted. Even if she’s smoking weed. I can’t imagine what it must feel like having your kid taken away from you because some neighbor hates your guts and wants to mess you up. Being a mother myself, I would go crazy if someone took my baby from me. So, with all that being said, i think that there’s a better solution for this weed smoking mom. Instead of taking her baby away, she should be placed into rehab while still being able to be with her baby. After all, a baby needs and craves its mother, not some stranger. Plus, the mother won’t get messed up emotionally and even psychologically missing her kid. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that foster parents suck or what ever. It’s good to have that option but we should look at what the baby really needs. Money and ‘safety’ aren’t always the solution.
