Family Troubles..

So I live with my mum and her boyfriend..and ever since shes been going out with him its been all about him & her & I’m practically invisible..I’ve tried talking to her about it but she doesn’t believe me and when I get my back up about it she tells me I have a bad ‘attitude’..but I can’t help it..I’m so unhappy here. My dad offered me a place at his house except I don’t want to move there, because he has a drinking problem..And my sister said I could live with her if she had more space but she doesn’t…So I don’t know what to do..Should I try a Youth Refuge or something? Because the street is looking way better then living here..It’s been like this for 6 months now..

so what dont be so needy your mom gave you life and raised you I think she deserves to have fun to and your old enough to look after your self dont leave that wouldn’t be right after everything she done for just get over it ey look at it like this if she not always on your case you got more freedom

This sort of stuff happens all the time. Parents split, one parent find another lover, they forget their child exists and focuses on the lover. It’s happened to someone I am very close to so I do understand what you are going through.

You need to hang in there a while longer. Try to talk to er again. Tell her how much it is upsetting you. Maybe even write a letter- that way she can’t but it and you can get your whole point across no interruptions.

Don’t live on the street. All those homeless people wish they had a home like you. If after you’ve tried to talking to her and it really doesn’t help maybe a visit to your friends/aunties/uncles other relative would be a good idea. I’m sure they would understand and take you in. good luck :)

omg the same exact thing is happening to me. but my mom & her boyfriend have ben dating for like 8 mo. & my dad is like begging me to live with him but I dont want to leave my mom but im like wasting my time bcus she doesnt even pay attention to me or my little sister. I always try to tell my mom that she has choseen him over us but she just blows me off thinking that im am just talking crapp* Even though me & my sister both agree. So I dont know if I should leave my mom who has ben there for me always xcept when she got this boyfriend. Or go live with my dad who left my sister, my mom and I like 3 years ago for a new g.f.So I guess were kindof in the same situation : / Good-Luckk -Lyndsay

Answer #6

Living in care ( in my opinion ) should be a last resort. If family are willing to take you in then I think it would be best to live with them rather than loads of people you don’t know.

Answer #7

uh no I don’t get more freedom. I’m trapped in this house..I’m invisible but once I leave I get in Trouble. I’m not a street kid & I’m only 16 not 18 I’m not old enough to get a house or to get a proper job.

Answer #8

Answer #9

Ha..yeah I wish I lived in a ‘rich’ area..my family is poor. We can barely afford to put food on the table. but yeah anyway.. Thanks for you’re advice but id rather do what the other people said..no offence.
