What entices you to think about the "difficult" questions?

Those kinds of questions that spark endless amounts of possibilities, chances, etc… What is it that causes you to think them? Is this all related to metacognition in some way? I seem to be having the issue of asking endless amounts of questions myself.

Answer #1

Because I Am A Writer Of Of Poetry And Am Very Intuitive And Like To Wonder About Why People Do What They Do And Why..

Answer #2

I think you just need to have a genuine interest in humans… in human nature and then the questions just follow. Things like injustice and lots of ‘is it or isn’t it ethical’ situations spring to mind LOTS of difficult questions for me.

Answer #3

Personally I really enjoy understanding WHY things are the way they are, and the way that they “work”. A “difficult question” may require deep analysis, and sometimes further research, in order to arrive at a coherent answer.

Those are the types of mental stimulation that I enjoy most. They satisfy me much in the same way as playing a tough game of chess against a well matched opponent, or solving a difficult cryptic crossword.

When I think I have found a useful solution to a difficult question, I sometimes want to keep it to myself, but usually I want to pass it on - primarily to help other people and perhaps assist in their education.

To some extent, when I come up with genuinely original insights into problems, I sometimes want to share it so that other people might think I am “pretty smart” - though I accept that such an admission does me little credit.

However such genuine original thought has the same nature as “art”, ….. like music, literature, and the fine arts. I think it would be very wrong for artists to keep such works to themselves in an effort to preserve some form of “false modesty”.

Personally, I rarely ask questions of other people, ….. mainly because I enjoy finding the answers out for myself so much.
