Hi tby here in Australia they ask have you had any criminal convictions and have you sign a form giving them permission to check that information now in certain positions they are not meant to use or discriminate with this information but as dawn says unfortunately they do.

I have never had a criminal conviction but I hope I can still help from what I’ve heard - You may be able to find some cash in hand and some labour positions which you may get through a friend and that they wont check these things but unfortunately sometimes the pay and conditions are worse with these cash positions.

You can contact your local unemployment agency and they may be able to offer you information on agency’s especially set up to give convicted felons a second chance these agencies will seek company’s especially that will offer positions for these persons. Every body deserves another chance in life I think so good luck and take care

That’s something you’ll have to ask the employers. They say they don’t discriminate against that, but I think we all know they do. Some employers will hire on the spot depending on your charge
