2.Name as many of the alkali metals, halgoensand noble gasses as you can and list them with theirsymbols 3.How many protons are there in an atom of chlorinen gold and mercury
The periodic table of the chemical elements (also known as the periodic table or periodic table of the elements) is a tabular display of the 118 known chemical elements organized by selected properties of their atomic structures. Elements are presented by increasing atomic number, the number of protons in an atom's atomic nucleus. While rectangular in general outline, gaps are included in the horizontal rows (known as periods) as needed to keep elements with similar properties together in vertical columns (known as groups), e.g. alkali metals, alkali earths, halogens, noble gases.[1]
The following is the periodic table as defined by the IUPAC:

It is stilled ordered by protons on the top of the square and mass number on the bottom. That is how I am learning it now in chemistry and I have seen around 50 periodic tables this year
Element are arranged in order of increasing atomic number & the properties of each element are studied in turn, similarities recur periodically.
