eBay buyer won't pay what I shipped?

I sold a buy it now 230.00 iPod touch fifth generation and it’s in good working condition, well the buyer turned out to be a scam, I recently found out I sent it to a address with no one currently living there and he will not contact back. And I tried typing my item ID # in the unpaid claim case yet it won’t go through it says it’s invalid, so should I use paypal cause my payment is pending yet no response and payment, what should I do? How do I get my money? I have evidence but I need my cash since the buyer hasn’t responded or sent it back. What should I do?

I thought the buyer is supposed to pay for it before you even send anything out… I always used paypal when I sold something on ebay. You should contact eBay about this because they are the ones that can really help you, not FunAdvice.

I need a link. I got too anxious to wait for payment, and it was to good to be true. Its still in transit, the Carrier is USPS. feb. 7th buy it now was by a account that was later unregistered, and it now says shipment will arrive feb. 22. when i type my item id # for a unpaid claim case, it’ll say item number is invalid. or “our system is down right now.” Either way I’m screwed. I need some kind of advice, not priceless advice.Paypal transaction id wont work either.
