So over the summer I lost quite a bit of weight. I was never fat or anything I'm about 5'7 maybe 5'8 and I think I weigh around 120 now but I'm not sure and I'm 16. I eat around 1400 calories a day, I'm not trying to lose weight or anything I just feel comfortable the way i am now and don't want to gain any weight back and eating 1400 calories seems feel like a good amount for me. I get light to moderate exercise daily i would say. I also went vegetarian which i think is the main reason for my weight lose if that matters for anything lol. but yes should i be eating more than 1400 calories? I'm worried I am going to continue losing weight which i don't want to do i just want to maintain where im at now.
Hard to say. Different people have different metabolisms and energy needs. To me 1,400 calories seems very spare for a teen. Teens have high metabolisms and are still growing. Most teens I know eat pretty hardy including slim ones. You shouldn't be starving yourself while you are still growing.
the calories may be a bit light, but I'm more concerned that if you're eating vegetarian you are getting all your vitamins and minerals. As long as you are eating a balanced diet you should be ok.
You should be eating about 1800 calories & moderately excercising to maintain your weight.
