why is it easier too talk to adults that are strangers than your own parents?

Answer #1

Because strangers don’t know your past so you feel that they won’t judge you.

Answer #2

I agree 100% My sister does more judging than helping me, it’s messed up.

Answer #3

Because your parents are biased. They can’t help it, they are invested in you. They have to act as role models, care takers, supports, friends, disciplinarians, etc. When they have all these roles to play, it gets complicated. Talking to other adults gives you the benefit of adult wisdom, maturity and experience, without the rest of the baggage.
