Answer #7

In my experience drinking on the street is acceptable if you’re not stupid, obnoxious, and/or belligerent about it. I have a smoke with a large mug of beer on the street after work most every day. Haven’t been “caught” yet.

I’ve seen the police cruise by my work doing their midnight beats and even raised my glass in salute to one not long ago. Most cops see enough different people every day to recognize trouble when they happen upon it. The rest of us, well, we’re mostly harmless; so unless you display the symptoms of “trouble” mentioned in my previous posting, you can more than likely enjoy a drink responsibly, without incrimination, on the street that you help pay for. Use your reasonable and intelligent self to answer your way out of any situation with Police if they should actually stop and question you…

Answer #9

depends on how observant the police are in your area i spent a few weeks walking around with a gallon jug screwdriver you know orange juice and vodka back in the late 90’s

Answer #10

The only place I’ve encountered you can walk the streets with drinks in hand and legally not get in trouble is Church Street Station in Florida where you can order a drink, take it out and walk around the area. Otherwise, special street events go on that allow you to walk around with a drink as long as it’s within the area. As for other areas where it’s illegal, most seasoned cops if your not causing trouble will bypass it …however there is always that possability you could encounter that new rookie cop who won’t give you a pass.
