I would love a dog but my dad says they smell, are there any that don’t? Please help!

I would reccomend getting a yorkie,, the dont really shed that much and if they are kept clean enough, they don’t stink. I wouldn’t say that all dogs stink but they always seem to find a way to make themselves stink.

All dogs smell like dogs of course…and some dogs within every breed might hae more oder than another. Some breeds like the hypo-allergenic breeds have less oder than any other breeds. Logic would also tell you that a large dog would have more oder than a tiny dog. Keeping the dog clean (not over clean, as that can cause skin problems which also have an oder)…and keeping his bedding clean also elimates oder.

it depends on if you keep it clean and well cared for! Mine doesn’t smell at all and is allowed on the couches and my bed. But he only goes outside 3 times a day for a walk around the block to potty. Dogs smell just as much as people. Why do you take showers? Same reason as you should bathe your dog. If a dog is smelly then that means the owner is very irresponsible. I know that statement will make people mad, but it’s true. So deal with it.

Any non-shedding dog would be fine. They don’t have a smell of their own, they take on the smell of their family and home. Now a wet dog will still smell like a wet dog, but no, not all dogs stink! My family and I raise puppies and have been for over 25 years, and let me tell you I much prefer the non-shedding, non-stinky dogs too! :-) Good luck with your dad!
