how to deal with public embarrassing pictures?

please help! someone posted very unflattering embarrassing pictures of me on a website. & embarrassing as in upskirt photos & i don’t exactly have the greatest body in the world. Ive been crying since ive seen them and as a recovered anorexic i feel like starving myself again. I already asked the person to remove the pictures but they have not yet replied to my pleas, i also reported the pictures as well. I feel like I can’t show my face every again! please, how do I deal with this - I’m humiliated!

Answer #1

Awww and youre gorgeous too you have nothing to be embarrased about!!!!

Answer #2

if the site fails to remove them then report it to their host.

its you and as you have not given permission for them to be posted they could be breaking their hosts terms and conditions.

Answer #3

The cops are not going to help. It’s only a criminal matter if you are naked and underage, or in a sex act and underage.

Otherwise, if you are just drunk or in an embarrassing position, then there is little else you can do besides ask the site where they are posted to take them down. Generally they will.

Answer #4

A police report is not going to help

Answer #5

i so agree with traviesa13 unless its just stupid pics of you acting dumb like making stupid faces or dressing funny etc. but if they are private pictures file a police report on the idiot that did it…..they deserve it!

Answer #6

i think its falling on deaf ears mate.

Answer #7

Yup

Answer #8

It feel like the upskirt pictures should be enough for that. And on top of that, I thought that it was considered an invasion of privacy, there’s something in it. It’s like releasing information about someone online: you can’t put someone else’s address and phone number online without their permission, I don’t think you can put pictures of them that they didn’t approve of up either.

Answer #9

Agreed. All we were saying, is that the cops WONT help you with that. You have to go to the website that has the pictures on them.

The issue here is not what I personally think of the pictures, but I’m trying to give you the best possible advice to get them down the fastest way. Going to the police, is the slowest possible way to do it, because you have to find the police in the location where the owners of the website are located (could be in China for all we know), and you know know whats involved there.

You can’t just go to the local police to get them taken down.

The ONLY way the local police can help, is if you know the person who put them up, and he/she lives in your local area. In that case the local cops can help.

But cops are not gonna listen to some teen girl from out of state or out of country to help you with taking down pictures from some website.

Answer #10

We understand your plight and wish there was an easier way, but stop talking about the cops with this issue, because they ain’t gonna help you. I manage a bunch of websites, and sometimes a cop may come to us for information about something from another state (having to do with funadvice too). – Basically we tell them to f*uck off, unless they have a warrant thats enforceable in the state and county that we do business in.

Answer #11

Whether or not you tell the cops, you have to face the facts. Once you post a picture on the web, it’s always there. Even if you remove it. People copy and paste things, they make copies on the printer and maybe even save the pics in files on they’re computer so once a picture is there, it’s never going away

Answer #12

well here’s an update on everything - i did know the person who posted the pics & they do live in my area & i did contact police & they did make her take them down. now everyone in that group of friends hates me because i did go to the police but i felt like i needed to. i asked more than once for them to be removed but had no reply so i lastly said “look if you don’t remove these pictures immediately, i’ll contact the police” then she messaged me back saying that “no one likes me” & that i’m a “dumb b*tch” & that i should “think” before i “threaten” her. and clearly i didn’t make any threats. it could have been avoided if she had some common sense to just not put up inappropriate pictures like that because it’s not funny or cool or whatever.. cyber bulling has some serious and unfortunate outcomes. & i thank god i’m a lot stronger than those who have taken their own lives for stuff like this.

Answer #13

Tuose are really good news! Good you fell stronger than what you thought and did nothing to harm yourself. It is allways goog to keep working on your selfesteem. After all if they say “no one likes you”, who is speaking? no one? is it realistic to believe that just because they say it then NO ONE likes you. I’m sure there are friend, relatives and others knowing you that do like you…just whatck out with cyber wich is full of kinds of things like this.

Answer #14

Good to hear that you got them taken down. I’m sorry but they didn’t sound like real “friends” to me.

Answer #15

they did help me, i had a detective working on my case and he had the pictures removed.
