Is it possible to continue on with a pregnancy when you have heavy bleeding and cramping?

I spent 5 hours at the hospital yesterday because I was having some bleeding and cramping. I did 4 home pregnancy tests (3 of which were positive) They did an ultrasound, blood work, and an internal exam. When my blood work came back, they said I had very low levels of HCG (104 I think). I’m not sure of my last date I had my period. However, this morning I woke up bleeding fairly heavy with more painful cramps. The doctor said I may have lost the baby, or could be in the process of losing it. I just want to know if anyone else has had this happen, and continued on to have a healthy normal pregnancy. I do go back tomorrow for more blood work to see if my levels have risen, and a follow up appointment the following day with the ob/gyn. I just would really appreciate if anyone can say something to put my mind at ease. Thanks

Its possible but its very rare. It sounds to me like your having an early miscarriage. Many women have them and never even know they were pregnant they just assume their period came. With the low hcg level and heavy bleeding and cramping…that is most likely the case….im sorry.
