Christians and Harry Potter

I am a christian, strong in my faith, but I do like harry potter, because it’s a good story. I can understand, maybe, how some christians would be so freaked about it, because in the bible it does say shun even the very appearance of evil… and if I thought harry potter seriously had anything to do with worshipping satan, I would stay away from it. but, my opion is, as long as you know the difference between fantasy and reality, there’s nothing wrong with reading the books. like I said, it made a great story. but, if its your convictions not to read Harry Potter then dont if that’s what you belive. But personally, I think it’s just a story, and nothing else.

hi, iam christian. your question is very interesting .as you can notice from reading the bible is that magic is always related to devil and devils worshipers.because the satans power comes directly from magic.the plot of Harry Potter is FOCUSING ON MAGIC(white magic )but its the same there is no kinds of magic.magic comes from devil and everyone uses it is related to devil.

I was wondering that as well. Around here they made this HUGE issue about it and it was in newspapers and everywhere when the books first started getting famous. Even now I have a few very religious friends and people I know who swears that something is wrong with those books…

this is just another example of a ‘radical’ christian belief, you can place this one on the list with christians thinking women were evil because of their period, and that women could ‘bewitch’ men and turn them into sexual pawns.and that those who dabbled in ‘folk medicine’ (the basis for most of our modern pharmacology) were in league with satan. IGNORANCE.

ignorance and hypocrisy, harry potter is a FICTIONAL character, just as fictitious as CHRIST and the DEVIL.

because they think it teaches kids about witchcraft but harry potter has nothing to do with satan so whatever brainwashed christian worrys about that doesnt know anything about witchcraft or harry potter

yeah, harry potter is good… I used to love it a lot!!! not as much now as I did then, but it’s still good.. I’m christian… and I’ve never heard anything about it either.. I love anything to do with fantasy.. fantasy/drama/romance is my favourite of genre and it’s the only thing I believe is worth watching or even reading.. I’m not against it at all..

The Christians who protest Harry Potter think its aim is to teach kids to worship Satan and practice witchcraft. They did the same thing with Dungeons and Dragons.

Seriously :o I have never heard about this, thats pretty strange if it is…people protesting against fantasy are the same people who believe in it lol

witchcraft/wicca is not SATANIST! people need to get that to their THICK A** skulls we don’t even believe in satan
