Why do children get away with stuff adults are punished for?

So like, if a preschooler hit someone once in school, they don’t even get suspended. All they get is a time out. If you hit a coworker, however, you get canned. I’m like wtf! I remember begging and giving a coworker $$$ to be my friend. They had my a* for it. They called corporate on me and stuff like that. However, if I did that in grade school, I wouldn’t have much consequence. Same thing for staring at that coworker on my days off and treating other coworkers like sht for a rage outlet. I got written up. At grade school, I woulda just gotten detention. I screamed at my boss in front of customers and got suspended 2 weeks. I came back later to be ostracized. If I yell at a teacher in grade school, I get just suspended a few days. Fair? Unfair? Fvcked up? like DUH

Answer #1

Because the preschooler would not have known better. If you hit a co-worker you are an adult and should know that hitting is not polite. Its pretty fair because children are still getting used to the way things work and may not know right from wrong. - Katie :)

Answer #2

Dude you sound like a crappy worker and deserved to get canned the differences between you and a child is umm age at this point ur maturity sounds like grade 2. kids don’t know right from wrong as well as adults do or should know. If you can not comprehend that then maybe you should go back to grade school.

Answer #3

btw if you yell at a grade school techer you can face expelling (sp?)

Answer #6

you shouldn’t be hitting any co-workers to begin with or be yelling at your boss especially in front of customers….i would of fired you not suspended you.

Answer #7

no, its perfectly FAIR. chilren obviously dont know right from wrong as much as adults do, thats why they dont get punnished as harshley, theres still growing and learning. you however should KNOW BETTER. your an adult women and shoulnt be acting out in public like a little girl who didnt get soemthing she wants. yelling, hitting and bribing a co-working is childish and extreemly unprofesional. youve showed that your not mature enough to handle certain situations and have ruined a bit of the companies reputation you worked for. they now have customers who think they hire people who act like 3 year olds. if you want to live in an adult world, you need to grow up and act like a mature, proffesional adult, not like a little kid. your a grown woman now, start acting like one.

Answer #8

I am amazed that you are actually asking this. At your age you should be able to control yourself in public. When a child hits another child, they get told off and put in ‘time out’ to teach them that hitting is wrong. When an adult hits another adult IT IS ASSULT. There is no excuse for bad behavior over the age of 15 (or even younger!) certainly not at 22. I think your actions are disgraceful.

Answer #9

Because most adults have developed their prefrontal cortex (that’s the part of the brain that controls impulses) and have matured. You apparently are one of the few exceptions. So maybe you need to be treated like a child. And have your hand held every where you go. And have to sit in the corner when you misbehave (in case you missed it, yes, that was dripping with sarcasm). You’ll note this is why 3 year olds are not working? Because they have no attention span and act like little children. Most of them grow out of it by about the age of 5 or 6. To compare yourself to a 3 year old is just sad.

Answer #10

I didn’t hit any coworkers, but I did verbally abuse them. I was only using hitting as an example.
