Can you get pregnant if you dont have periods?

misslady08 - I am going on 4 months of not having my period and I went to the Dr. to check it out - she diagnosed me w/ HIGH LEVELS OF PROLACTIN…pls get checked out properly…I now have an appt. w/ an Endocrinologist to further test. and hopefully will get my period again w/ the help of meds. pls. google high levels of prolactin to see what it is all about…this could be you.

No, I had not had periods till 2 months ago. I had them until April 2006 then stoped and started this year! I asked my doctor and she said no. Because the egg doesnt drop

it is very possible to get pregnant if you haven’t had a period for a while. It is even possible to get pregnant if you have never had a period at all. When you have your period, it means that two weeks or so ago, an egg was released from your ovaries and your body prepared itself for the possibility of pregnancy but for most people, the only sign that they have undergone ovulation comes when they get their period. If fertilization occurs BEFORE you get your period (and there’s a good two weeks in between for fertilization to occur) you will be pregnant even though your period never came! Sorry if this is hard to understand, I’m finding it quite hard to explain! Main point, yes, you can get pregnant if you haven’t had your period for a while!

IM NOT PREGNANT Im sure about that… thought I said that Im not athletic I dont excersise, havent been sick, lost or gained weight, no diet changes I dont know whats wrong. I went to my doctor back in March they just said “Well you’re not pregnant…” and left it at that, like it was ok to not have a period for 3 months… so I just went with it must be ok. But Im sure that 5 months is not ok! ( ( ( Thank You Melissain46176 thats one question answered ) ) ) So what are some other explanations for not having a period for 5 months?? Besides weight loss/gain, diet, and excersise and all that Oh yeah, I do believe that if I get back on birth control again it would start again… Im going to wait a minute to try that though lol Im not sure sure but I think that would work

well youve started your period, so thats the important thing sometimes things can happen that dont really have an explanation so be careful, because there might be a small chance reasons why you havent had a period in 5 months can include sudden, or quick weight loss or gain over exerscising drastic changes to diet theres some other things to but it shouldnt just stop for 5 months you really should get a check up at the doctor, because there might be something more seriouse thats wrong

Well I don’t know the right answer for that. But when I got pregnant with my son I HARDLY EVER had my period. So I found out I was pregnant because I had like the worst case of morning sickness. I would (you know) every morning and took a pregnancy test and found out . Oh and the whole unusual period thing I’ve heard of people going and getting on the pill to regulate it.

Yes you can get pregnant if you don’t have your period. My boyfriend’s sister hasn’t had her period since she was 10 years old and she is now 23 and has 3 girls.
