Can I still get a grant?

Can I still get student grants from the state of texas even tho I am on felony deferred adjudication for poss of a controlled sub? I am clean now and have been for years and I am also a full time worker and a single mom!! How can I get $$ for school? My probation officer told me not to put on job applications that im a convict because im not convicted. I am deferred, therfore it is not a conviction so I didnt ,and I applyed online for my fasfa and got $$ approved .I didnt go this year because of work scheduals but I just need to know if I can get in trouble or anything if I say im not a felon!! I plan on applying next year and going for my small buisness degree. I f I dont qualify for grants from the state is there anything I do ? Is there anything for people who have drug charges that are doing something with there life that I should know about? I mean it is bad enough that I cant get a good job how am I supposed to get into school with min. Wage and a child to feed? I am not feeling sorry 4 my self I know I should have never clamed something that was not really mine but I was doped up and dumb and thought I could save my boyfriend and it landed both of us in jail!!! I have a life and a child now and I need options! Is there any?
