Can I move out at 14 in my sutuation ?

Hello. im 14. I live in Australia, melbourne.
My dad has just died about 1 month ago, my mum has a long term mental illness( shes Crazy) and is in the mental health hospital. I live with my other 2 brothers and 1 sister, grandma and grandpa. I am the eldest. I feel like I need to move out because my grandmother is always yelling and saying things that puts me down, on the other hand I have my bro’s and sis that doesn’t listen to me at all. they talk back, swear at me when they’re only 5-7 and pretend to cry to my grandmother so I would get in trouble. I really can’t take this. its causing me a lot of stress thinking about it. want to have a good future, so I decided I need to move out and abandon them. all I got is about $140 aus dollar. I have nowhere to go. can I live in and orphanage till im 18? then I’ll move out. Please answer me I really need help.

I think you should talk to your family first Maybe you can’t get them to treat you nicely If I was in your place I would talk to my aunts or uncles or anybody I could trust It could be a good idea to get into Forster care in your situation but you never know how theyr gona treat you ther Think a little about your siblings too remembr theyr still small

Good luck

I’m not sure what the laws are in Australia regarding this, however in Canada you can move out at the age of 16. At the age of 14 you are the responsibility of your parents. That said, if you can prove that they are unfit to raise you, then you are allowed to live with a legal guardian until you re of age.

Answer #3

I would go into foster care If I were you. If its stressing you that much, speak to someone important at school, and see there point and they will advise you where to go from there Also try help lines and see what they say

Chin up though, this wont go on for forever

Good luck, Peace x

Answer #4

you can move out at 16 in Australia. But you should definitely talk to you’re family first.
