okay well my mom was the same way she didnot like piercings even tho I got my ears pierced @ age 2 but now I have 6 other piercings that I did all by my self and non got infected but make sure you clean needle good and put ice on the place you are piercing so it wont hurt and piercing your own hips is kinda hard but I am happy I did it

Mmkay so;

If your parents won’t let you, then here is and idea, don’t?! You could wait to you move out? Or just do it anyways, it’s your hips, it’s rather easy to hide.

‘’I dont have a job’’, well that sucks, hips are outrageously expensive (mine were around $500, I have 6 dermals, 3 per hip, and I had them done in Toronto by a friend who gave me a discount). ‘’So I dont wanna have to spend too much money.’’ honestly if your not willing to spend the money to have it done properly, you shouldn’t be getting it done in the first place…

‘’I’m also underage’’, by how much? Like so young you wouldn’t even be able to get it done, since your body is still growing, and it’ll migrate then reject in 6months tops (especially since you want to use a bar which’ll reject quicker, easier, and it’ll be more painful, and leave a long nasty scar)…?

‘’Do I have to use a hollow needle?’’ LOL you shouldn’t be using a needle at all that’s the OLD method for hips. They generally use a dermal punch now, unless the place is sketchy. But yes, they PREVIOUSLY used to use hollow needles since it’s a 16g barbell that was inserted. Nobody really uses non-hollow needles unless they’re doing a taper punch.

‘’Where could I buy the barbells for my hips? (Peterborough, Ontario)’’ You shouldn’t be buying them at all! But look around, you’ll find something. I can guarantee you that it won’t be good though, and you’ll probably get an infection from either 1.) cheap metal, 2.) doing it yourself, no matter how clean you think something is, it probably isn’t, and 3.) you don’t have equipment to sterilize it.

Please DON’T be an idiot. Wait till your body’s done growing, try to persuade your parents, and GET IT DONE BY A PROFESSIONAL!

I would NEVER do my own piercing. I wanted my cartilige [sp?] pierced and so I allowed my friend to do it, when I took out the safety pin it gushed blood and I almost had to go to the Emergency Room.

Answer #4

I agree with Matt. It is stupid to do your own piercings. Plus you don’t have a job to get treatment if it does get infected. Also your parents don’t want you to get it done so you should respect what they have to say until you are old enough to get them done.

Answer #5

I wouldn’t recommend it. You could get an infection or somthing >.< It’s not worth the risk or the trubble =
I’d just wait until your older and when you move out of your parent’s house.

Answer #6

Answer #8

To tl1424 - Yes, hip piercings exist.

And to the asker of question - you DON’T pierce ANYTHING yourself. Only a true moron would even THINK about doing ANY piercing by their self. Piercings are meant to be done PROFESSIONALLY… no matter what. If you pierce it yourself, chances are you’ll end up with infections, it won’t heal up correctly, and you probably won’t even pierce it right to begin with. Don’t listen to ANYONE giving you tips on how to do this yourself. Seriously, they’re full of sh*t. They’re NOT professionals and they DON’T know what they’re doing. Neither do you for that matter. If they would claim to be a professional piercer, ignore them because they’re lying. If they were truly a professional, they’d be saying DON’T EVER do ANY piercing yourself. ALWAYS get your piercings done by a PROFESSIONAL like myself.

Listen to my advice, I know what I’m talking about. You WILL regret doing it yourself and you’ll be wishing like hell you would have gotten it done professional. It’ll be well worth the price and you won’t be sorry, I promise. By getting it done professionally, you will KNOW it’s done right and you will have a VERY LOW risk of infection if you care for it properly that is. So seriously, DON’T DO IT YOURSELF. Get it done by a PROFESSIONAL.
