What happens if the buyer doesn't get their package on eBay?
So I sold 2 laptops on ebay both about $350. I printed a shipping label with paypal and shipped them right after with no insurance or delivery confirmation like your supposed to do. I think the post office might have lost the packages. What happens if the buyer opens up the case. Will ebay still take my money even though its not my fault?
You should have had both confirmation and insurance. Spend the extra few dollars to increase your ratings and make more sales. Don’t worry though. I’m pretty sure the Terms of E-bay Usage agreement protects their sellers against lawsuits or w/e, leaving the responsibility on the delivery company in question You have documentation of the sale and intended delivery so I bet everything checks out on your end of the deal, the buyer paid for the item when they bought it right? The original buyer may have some negative feedback for you though, for not at least insuring your shipments, so be warned. Good Luck, and Happy Holidays! :D
How did you get paid by the seller? Did they use Paypal? If they used Paypal then you will not be eligible for seller protection due to not using delivery confirmation. It means that if the buyer opens up a case against the seller the money that they paid for your laptops will be returned to the buyer until Paypal/eBay decides about it. Most of the time nothing gets done and the person you sold the item will get to keep the laptop and get their money back. This is how ebay/paypal resolves this type of disputes if the seller refuses to adhere to the rules pertaining seller protection.
