Bruce lee

How many hours a day would I have to train to become the next bruce lee

If you look through the wiki entry (I am by no means a bruce lee scholar) it doesn’t make a lot of reference to what he accomplished as a martial artist. Actually it never mentions a belt level that Lee earned. Wikipedia is not the greatest source, but I don’t ever recall hearing any belt level he earned in any previous martial arts either.

What Bruce Lee did do was study everything. He was a champion boxer (not at pro level), he learned from high ranking martial artists outside of the chinese variants (which he learned growing up), he also looked at body builders and other fitness buffs for advice on how to hone his body. He took all of these things and used them to mold himself. While reading a list of physical feats leads me to believe most were an exaggeration he was obviously in top shape. The man had no fat on him and at the most weighed 160lbs.

Also in what way would you want to be the next Bruce Lee? Hollywood has found it is much easier to teach a trained actor how to do a few flashy martial arts moves then to teach a trained martial artist to act. See Jet Li who is actually an amazing martial artist and at best a decent actor.

One of my co workers is certified to teach JKD and is a 5th degree blackbelt… as said before me it would take you years of not only training but it would have to become a lifestyle for you… He works full time at my job and then works full time training and teaching.. I would choose a different person to emulate…

Bruce Lee invented a mixture of different fighting techniques that can be applied to more than just fighting. Bruce was a genius and way ahead of his time. His death and his son’s death “Brandon Lee,” was a tragic loss to us all. Both truly gifted. There is no telling what type of level martial arts would be on in this new millennium if Bruce Lee was still here today. Bruce Lee was lightning fast, and very strong. I consider him to be the best of all time & would put my money on him against anyone. It would take anyone of us a lifetime to master or to get anywhere close to the level Bruce was on. I say that “I’m the coldest one I know,” but then there’s Bruce….
