Bone health in teens (that were preemies)?

I was visiting an orthodontist today, and she showed me that in the x-rays, my jaw bones aren’t normal. They are not shaped normally, are too thin (one is even more thin than the other), and aren’t symmetrical, and we have no idea why. I went to talk about braces, but she says that since I’m in my mid-late teens, that having braces along with the hormores from being in my mid-late teens might cause the bones to recede even more. My parents think that my being born nine and a half weeks early is a contributing factor. Should I have a bone density scan? And does anyone have any idea what this might be? Please, I am really kind of freaked out about this, and any insight is greatly appreciated! I thank you all who answer in advance.

Well, it’s not an actual doctor that knows a lot about these things that brought it to my attention, it was just an orthodontist..I want to know opinions on what it might be, or if I should actually see a doctor about this. I’m not sure if I should just wait and see what happens, or if I should get it checked out right away.

sorry for my bluntness but… if the doctor doesn’t know how are we supposed to?
