Bird please help?

I had got a bird about 6 years ago and truely it had adopted me. We found it in our back yard. I put postings in the news paper and told a local 4-H and no one claimed it so its still with me. When I found it, it had a band on its leg with numbers I was wondering if thos numbers could help me find anything out about it?

The details on a bird’s ring indicates the breeder and the year the bird was hatched. You may be able to trace the bird back to its breeder, who may have kept records of who he had sold the bird to (individual person or pet store). Ask your local breeders association for advice. It would be great if you can return the bird to its original guardian as the loss of a parrot that is a member of a family is tragic. On the other hand, if you had the bird for that long and if the bird sees you as family, then why are you so worried. It sounds to me like the bird enjoys your company!!!
