Binge eating disorder

I have it and I don’t know how to stop. The past month has been horrible. I’ve gained 10 pounds. I don’t know what to do. My life is ruined. I’ve been on a diet before I started this binge trip. and it’s happened before almost everytime I’m on a diet. I don’t know what to do, I’m lost. I feel like I need to do something to punish myself for all the food I’ve ate, so tomorrow, I plan on not eating. I planned on doing it today, but I ate. My sister said I’ve put on weight and she’d help me not eat, but everytime she says that I always eat. I know how to lose weight and eat right, but every time I do, I go on a binge trip, so starving is my only way.

I could use support too.

But anyway…what do you think of binge eating disorders? I’m just curious. and could someone please support me?

Simply a Rose to brighten your day,

    And maybe lessen the cares in your way;
And also, too, to help you to know,
That in knowing you, many others grow!

Why wait until tomorrow to start what you can start today? Today is the day to start taking care of yourself!

Below is a link to an eating disorder site which also covers binge eating (just scroll down the page a little).

How to LOSE weight?

First, determine from the information below, what your weight should be. Then set yourself goals of a week, 2 weeks, a month, 3 months, 6 months and a year. As you see yourself meeting your goals it becomes easier. Remember, you didn’t gain your weight overnight so don’t expect to lose if overnight. Plus, weight lost slowly is more likely to stay off than weight lost in a hurry.

Info if you are trying to LOSE weight:

http://www.bmi-calculator.net/treatment/overweight-treatment.php

“How can I Lose 1 pound of body weight per week?”   One pound of body fat is equal to about 3500 calories. So to lose 1 pound of weight per week, you need to eat 500 calories/day LESS than you burn.

But it’s not a good idea to lose weight simply by cutting calories. As well as decreasing calories you should increase your daily physical exercise. This helps to burn calories and build more lean tissue which in turn burns more calories.

“What should a minimum calorie intake be?”

As a guide to minimum calorie intake, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) recommends that calorie levels never drop below 1200 calories per day for women or 1800 calories per day for men. Even these calorie levels are quite low.

Always make sure you eat a good breakfast. That helps get your metabolism going so that your body starts burning fat instead of conserving it. During the day drink at least 8 eight ounce glasses of water. If you drink one of those glasses of water BEFORE consuming any other meals or snacks, you will help curb your appetite and reduce the amount you eat.

Just make up your mind that for TODAY you aren’t going to binge. That doesn’t mean not eating which is unhealthy. Let the tomorrows take care of themselves.

Please view that link on eating disorders above. It does have a lot of information.

ok I know how you feel. I gain about 3 pounds a week since I have binge eating disorver and I binge 6 times a week for 24 hours a day. it is absolute hell I know but their are things to help! first off restricting after a binge only makes it worse, you got to push on even with all the guilt. Just think of it as a bad day and you have a whole new chance tomorrow!

ok now for the magic lol their is somthing new out for people with eating disorders called the friend/partner plan! it works amaxingly for bingers. basiclly you give up all controle for at least a month and choose one person to prepare and make all your meals. this person decides how much you will eat as well as what you will eat. they also must eat with you or be with you while you eat! trust me it will suck for the fisrt 1-2 weeks since giving up controle is hard but it gets better when you start to go longer without binging. you will also hate your “friend or partner” for the first week since they get to have controle over you. Its hard but it works magic!!! now for the “person” I would say for them to not give into the requests of the binger because then it wont work. you are to mix up the variety of food as well and include desserts and sweets.

eventually will will enjoy the company as well as the freedom of not having to worry about meals anf food! so try it out and appreciete life binge free

Honey, the reason why you go on these binge trips is the pressure you put on yourself to diet. Every good dieter knows that rushing weight loss (for example, planning to not eat for a whole day) is totally ineffective. You will just go crazy and binge, gaining back whatever weight you lost (water weight, not fat) and more. Which is what is happening to you. Dieting is as much as psychological thing as a physical thing.

The key to effective weight loss and avoiding binge sessions is to not restrict yourself too much. You can eat whatever, just in moderation. By not allowing yourself to eat your fave foods you will just go crazy and eat a whole bunch. Also, it will help if you tried to portion it out before actually eating it. For example, just pouring a small amount of chips into a bowl so that you don’t eat the whole bag. Good luck hun! Funmail me for more advice! =]

I’m not an expert on Binge Eating Disorder, but if I were you, I’d get some self control. I’m sorry if that sounds rude, I’m not meaning it to sound like that. I haven’t ever binged. But what I do is if you see something you’d love to eat, ask yourself, “Am I really hungry?” If not, walk off. If so, ask, “Is there a meal coming up within an hour or so?” If so, wait for that. If not. Have one serving size!! To make sure you have only ONE SERVING SIZE, put away the snack food after you got a serving size. Chances are, you won’t want to get antoher. And if you do, stop yourself. Do something else. Such as excersizing! Or running around. Or watching tv.

Binge eating is definately not a good idea. You’ll wana stop as soon as possible!

I’ll support you. I promise. If you need to, Fun Mail Me. I’ll give you my email address and we can work together to work things out. I know it’s not as good as having someone sitting right next to you, but it works pretty good.

I know you can do it!!

‘not eating’ and ‘binge eating’ are both so unhealthy really just eat healthy , and find out why you do the things you do just everytime before you do , try and think about whats healthiest for you trust me, I’ve been down that path nothing is worth it.

If you want good advice, ask Cha-Cha! It’s a number you text. 242-242. That’s the number. Yes, it’s okat that ti’s only 6 characters.

Try eating veggies/fruits/salads, I know it doesnt quite curb the craving but it will help fill you up so you dont eat quite as much junk food. Also have you tried the 100 cal pack thingies? they help you keep count.

There are a couple of options for getting outside help…

  1. You could go to overeater anonymous
  2. You could see a nutritionist, maybe a counselor too, figure out why you feel the need to binge
  3. There are doctors (I dont know what they’re called) but they prescribe appetite suppressants, fat burners and work on a weight loss plan with you. If you see a GP I’m sure they’d be able to direct you to the right people…
