Are credit card applications bad?

whn i fill out a credit card application and i dont get it…am i hurting my credit?

Answer #1

Nope. If you aren’t using the credit card then nothing happens.

You should use it to build credit though. Dont buy things if you dont have the money for it is the rule I go by. I always pay mine off before the due date so no intrest is added.

So I basically just use my credit card even though I have the cash but then pay it later.

nope just applyed for one yesterday to get better credit

Answer #3

Yes, you can hurt your credit. If there are too many applications on your credit history, it will definitely lower your credit score.

If you have applied for too many new accounts recently, that may negatively affect your score. However, not all inquiries are counted. Inquiries by creditors who are monitoring your account or looking at credit reports to make “prescreened” credit offers are not counted.
