apartment dogs? and bulldogs?

I would like to get a dog but I live in an apartment. I would like a relaxed dog and sort of active. I wouldn’t want a dog jumping every were. I know that all dogs are different but is there any dog who fit this. I heard bulldogs are good, but seer there more like this. I was reading about and it seems that they get ill pretty easily and the vet bull is very high or is that exaggerated. anyone who has one is this all true? I dont want a small dog just a medium size dog. im not in a rush into getting a dog maybe a month or two I just want to know more before I get one.

I would suggest going to your local shelter and start looking, there are usually med. size breeds there. I don’t think you need to be to breed selective. But I would start looking now, that way you have plenty of time to choose. you can also let the shelter know what you are looking for and they could help match you up with your new friend.

Different breeds have different activity levels…and within each breed, there are different personalities…some Bulldogs are lazy…some are very energetic, it would all depend on their breeding lines. Bulldogs overheat easily, and do have less exercise needs than say a German Shepherd, or a hunting dog.

You might want to think about starting out with a less stubborn breed, however…Bulldogs are bred to be “determined”… There are many smaller breeds who have been bred to be “companions”…Pugs, Cavilier King Charles Spanials, Poms, Minature Poodle…they can get much of their exercise right in your apartment…yet love going to walks or fetching toys.

There is no dog in the world who won’t be “jumping up on everything” unless you train it to do otherwise. No dog comes complete with manners…
