Anyone here believes in World Peace??

Does anyone?Such a thing contradicts human nature,don’t you think?I mean,there will ALWAYS be something or someone you hate or dislike and things that you hate.Doesn’t a balance make more sense-stability?Sure,countries be at peace with eachother-but they’ll disagree on some things!Isnt world peace asking for perfection?

Balance is ALL we need! You can’t have too much good cause without evil, people just wouldn’t get it. ;)

maybe if you get rid of multiple religions, money, etc etc. with all the religious turmoil, organized crime, terrorism, greed, and the list goes on and on. world peace went out the window when eve decided to take a bite of fruit

as long as there is people there is civilization and as long as theres civilization there is corruption

so no its not possible to have absolute peace but something like it

I wish we could have world peace. I believe it won’t happen because deep down people are prideful evil, and power hungry, and that causes them to rise in power and cause war and destruction.

Look at America, it was the land of the free, who was not going to go off and start wars with other countries, but would remain neutral in all military ways, yet would be economic allies with everyone. Now we are out policing the world, telling other countries what they should do, and telling our citizens back at home what they can and cannot do.

Liberty is the best way to a peaceful world.

Humans have a way of finding things to fight over. Religion, politics, boarders, economic ideology, etc.

It is hard to imagine a peaceful world. The first step may be to celebrate our diversity instead of fight over it.

You’re right about one thing - as long as there is human nature, there will never be peace in the world.

You can, however, have your own inner sanctuary - your own peace. You can teach yourself not to hate, not to be bothered with agreeing or disagreeing and just living for the moment.

Now, if everyone in the world would create their inner peace, human nature will have evolved and world peace could be achieved.

Yeah, even if we were to have one government that controlls the entire world there will still never be peace. As I have said before the only way to accomplish world peace is by taking every free thinking individual and lock him in a cell alone. That is why our founding fathers thought it was better to have freedom then peace.

One small part of Patrick Henry’s speech, I recomend everyone read the entire thing.

“It is in vain, sir, to extenuate the matter. Gentlemen may cry, “Peace! Peace!” – but there is no peace. The war is actually begun! The next gale that sweeps from the north will bring to our ears the clash of resounding arms! Our brethren are already in the field! Why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish? There will never be world peace, but I think it is possible for war to end. For that to happen, all places on the earth must come to share a common culture that values peace, and all nations must be ruled by the people rather than by elites.

I don’t hold out a lot of hope that these two conditions will happen any time soon, but the world is moving in that direction, which is encouraging.
