Are we allowed to plead the fifth in class?

Are you going to self-incriminate yourself if you don’t? I mean you can try, nothing bad will come out of it. If it is something serious then yes why not. An example I would use, is if I got pulled over, and the officer asked “Do you know how fast you were going.” Then, that is a good time to not say anything. If you are going to use it to get away with why you didn’t do your homework, then don’t do it, it’s just a silly thing there.

Yes, you should answer. Not only is it polite and gives a better impression, it is just easier for the teacher to handle you. I mean who likes a smarta** in the first place? Haha, well just answer. You can attempt to use the fifth as an excuse, but they are allowed to lower your grade or act upon it.

ive done it before in middle school and the teacher got irritated and sent me to the office, but the principle didn’t punish me he just said well i see why you did it but next time just please try to do it in a respectful way. i only did it because she was asking me questions about my personal life, it had nothing to do with school at first she was yelling at me for something that happend in school, and it led to her changing the subject to my home life and i didnt like her tone so i plead the fifth lol so i guess you could do it but it all depends on what its about
