Is Smallville a good show or not?

The first four seasons focused on Clark and his friends’ high school years. Since season five, the show has ventured into more adult settings, with some characters attending college. I used to work on that show. After season one, it got pretty good, but once Lois turned into a hyper-witch from another planet, I lost interest. There is a certain level of hokeyness I’m willing to accept (Xena, anyone?), but that crossed a line.
