Can someone help me please?

I am bored and lonely most of the time. I don’t have much friends and have a hard time making friends. Most of the time I’ll go everywhere by myself and end up sitting in a fast food restaurant alone for hours just fooling around on my tablet. My life has no excitement to it. What can I change ?? Don’t suggest I go out more because I have no money to go out, I’m currently in the process of getting a job. Please help me. I need adventure and excitement. What can I do??

Kind of in the same boat. I’m from NYC. If you are from here as well, we could hang out.

Join a sports team or a club maybe to meet new people(: Maybe next time you go out instead of looking at a tablet, look up at people and smile. Get a makeover, talk to some old friends! Look confident and happy, then people will walk up to you first(: Or if you wanted, you can just say hi to someone!

Do some volunteer service for something you care about that connects you with other people. (They care about the same thing.)

You can still go out without spending money. I love reading, so one thing I like to do is take a book to a somewhat quiet place, like Starbucks or Panera Bread. It’s nice getting out of the house, and occasionally someone will introduce themselves and sit by me. You never know where you’ll meet someone. I think what it all comes down to is finding and taking part in things that interest you. Going on walks or runs are free. Writing is free. One day, just be really spontaneous and drive somewhere you’ve never been before. Walk around the mall. Volunteer. The more you try and keep busy, the less bored you’ll be, and the more likely you’ll meet new people. I think that once you get a job, you’ll probably be a lot less bored, and you may even develop friendships with co-workers.

Join a local gym, a sports team, take up a hobby - learn to play guitar, bake, photography .. ect. Take part in marathons. Volunteer at an animal shelter, a child after school program, a nursing home… places that can further expand your network of people and possibly help find you a job. Call up thatt one really good friend and do something with him/her - go biking, cook together, shop together. All you need is to just start somewhere! :)
