As far as I can tell, it should be capitalized. Teachers corrected my paper when the I wasn't capitalized. I think it's because even though the I isn't alone in the word, it's still separate from what it's joined with. The apostrophe is just designed to shorten the presence of a word that typically follows the word "I." Technically speaking, if you expanded it, it would be "I am" and not "Iam."
But that's my 2 cents on it :)
It absolutely must be capitalized as a proper noun. It's just like saying" Bob's" or "McDonald's" ... you wouldn't write those in the lower case, and neither should you do so for "I'm"..
Are you sure? I think "I'm" is suppose to be capitalized but "im" isn't unless it's at the beginning of the sentence. I'm going to ask my English teacher and see what she says, haha.
I've never been corrected either. I don't think it's a very common rule to know. I just thought it looked weird "i'm" so I was wondering. xD

It doesn't have to be. It can be i'm or I'm. The only time it's supposed to be capitalized is when I is by itself like "I am."
yes it looks weird coz the proper way is to capitalized it =) hehehe
Thought so. It just looks awkward in the middle of the sentence.
I agree it does look weird in the middle lol
It should always be capitalized just like I.
Should always be capitalized
Hmm, i'll ask mine too :p
