10 billion dollars per month in Iraq, is it really worth it?

I found out the other day, the United States is spending 10 billion per month to stay in Iraq. Wow. All that & we can’t cover health care for poor children. Or raise the minimum wage. But, we give tax breaks to the rich :)

So, is it really worth it, spending that much money, to spread ill will among other countries about the United States, and make them HATE us more? Is killing more people worth any money at all?

I’m sickened, really, but curious: what’s your personal justification, if you think we should stay there, for spending all that money given the massive pile of problems in the US today?

Answer #1

Bush ruined this country.

Answer #2

no. no. no. It would not have been worth it even if it cost nothing.

Answer #3

“I think that they started the war, but realy it wasn’t all of Iraq that started it.”

You believe that Iraq started this war?

Exactly when and where did that occur?

Answer #4

Killing people is NEVER the answer to ANYTHING…

Answer #5

I agree.. they dont even appreciate it. we sud feed the starvin kids in our country. I do want to save the world but how can we do this if not even our own country is saved first!!!

Answer #6

your right, Kids should be saved, but the troops out there now cant do much about it. but at the end of the day, I t comes down to Bush

Answer #7

Wow, $10billion. And is it really achieving anything?

Answer #8

There is no need for this war! Luthien is definitely right…this war is not achieving anything. We’re killing their people and and they are killing us too. Nobody will win this war! It’s pointless. Bush did mess America up. It’s a good thing his last four years is up in two months. I think the World would be at war if he stayed in office as President for even another year! I’m scared to think about what that man could have did besides that war in Iraq…

Answer #9

well I think its absoutely wrong and I cant believe that its just not right its not solving anything and there are waaay more important things than that really like the health care for poor children is more abundant to an extensive reach really

Answer #10

Actualy. We don’t give tax breaks to the rich. The rich are 20 percent of our population and they pay for 40 percent of our taxes.

We have raised the minimum wage. But when you raise that companies charge more for their products. And since the middle class don’t get any extra money when minimum wage is raised the only have more expenses.

I’m on the fence about the war in Iraq though. I think that they started the war, but realy it wasn’t all of Iraq that started it. Unfortunetly it would take years to clear everything out of Iraq. I do not belive in killing inocent people.

The United States gives other countries SO MUCH money every year, but countries still hate us. People see the starving kids in Africa and think I hate America. But we do give them money, their leaders just take it all rather then giving it to the people. It’s almost like the United States has to be the United Nations. You don’t see the United Nations helping anybody.

Answer #11

YES! LETS ‘CUT AND RUN!’ That sounds good to me! We’ve done it before, I think we can do it again!!! :) Maybe save some money. Get those men and women out of there, yeah sounds pretty good to me. And probably to the familys of those soldiers.
