How to select the appropriate property at which to host your wedding.
First and foremost, whichever venue you settle on, must have the room to accommodate the size of your crowd. Take time to confirm your final guest count so that you can narrow down your venue list to only those venues that have the space to fit all guests.
Many couples have a strong preference as to whether they want their venue to have indoor or outdoor spaces; or maybe both! It's important to get on the same page as a couple about whether you want your ceremony and/or reception to take place outside in open air or inside in designated banquet halls.
Every couple has a distinct taste that defines their overall style. Use this to guide your decision-making when choosing a property for your wedding. If you're drawn more toward rustic decor, a farmhouse style venue would be a good choice. If you tend to enjoy contemporary or even industrial design, a loft or urban building may be up your alley. If you're more of a classic romantic, then historic manors or ornate ballrooms may be the best fit.
Some couples care tremendously about privacy and want a wedding free from disruption or wandering strangers. Yet, not all venues provide exclusivity of their property on the wedding day and may book multiple events during the same time frame. For this reason, it's critical to find out the venue's policy and decide whether you're comfortable sharing the venue with other parties on the day of your wedding.
Some venues have noise restrictions and limits that require couples to end their wedding by an early time in the evening. This can be the case with some outdoor venues that are required by the city to comply with noise ordinances. This can also be the case with destination resorts that need to accommodate other guests as well and don't want event noise disruption the guest experience. Ask about the time limits for hosting your event to ensure they fall within an agreeable range for you.
