Is there any training or certification required? Basically, how do you get into that profession? Is it a decent living?
You're required to get your Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Apparently when you're 18 you can get your CDL and drive a truck in your own state (and this applies to all 50 states) but you cannot drive a truck across state lines until you're 21. I'm not sure about the lifestyle...but it seems lonely. While you may get to travel all over the country, you are doing a job and you can't exactly go sight-seeing. Well, when you have to and there are mouths to feed and is all that there is then I guess it would be okay. But I draw the line on livestock. I would end up turning vegetarian if I did that!!!! lol! I am okay eating meat now but it would break my heart looking into their piggy eyes as I take them to their final destination.
ahah well I would love to go trucking lately driving/being in the car is the only place I feel like I can think or breathe
and I dont care if its the mall or a wearhouse somewhere lol, just no live cargo
So your saying delivering fertilizer, toxic waste, or a garbage truck wouldn't be out of the question for ya? LOL :)
I am a truck driver Bethany! Let's go trucking!!! Sometimes we may even have to make deliveries to the mall. (: lol!!
Yeah I agree, you do what you have to do But I still could not do livestock
I dont want to take animals to a slaughterhouse :/
i know :P
ahahaha but anything else Im good :)
Live cargo? As in like Cattle or pigs?!!! lmao.
