is a squirrel an ok pet to have around a 2yr old and a 4yr old?

Answer #1

Absolutely not. A squirel is a wild animal, not a domestic one and they definatly shouldnt be trusted around young children who tend to be too rough with animals and can cause the squirel to attack. They arent always so cute and cuddly, and if they were caught inthe wild they can have a number of diseases that can be passed on too tthe children through a bite.

Answer #2

No - a squirrel is a wild animal…it isn’t meant to be kept as a pet, and squirrels have a tendency to be aggressive.

Answer #3

You can purchase a domesticated squirels, chipmunks, and skunks. But as stated above squirels and chipmunks are aggresive even if raised by a human since birth. Skunks are very friendly though we owned two of them before moving on post.

Answer #6

No, of course not. Squirrels can be VERY aggressive. They aren’t like a tiny puppy.

Depending on where you got the squirrel, it could have diseases, that it can infect a young child with.

Why would you want to put small children in danger? Get a puppy, kitty, or maybe even a hamster. Leave the wild animals outside.
