No, it's always a good idea to check the sources of what you are reading. If there aren't any, or the sources don't seem credible(people's blogs, wikipedia and forums are not credible sources, but newspapers, academic peer reviewed papers and government websites usually are), than take what you read with a grain of salt.
Not everything on the Internet is true but you can read lots of different things and then see which answer was most commented.
