What is Roy Lichensteins art realistic or abstract ?

Answer #1

Depends on how much you had to drink….

Just kidding. I would say that it was abstract. However I suppose that if you argue your point, neither realistic or abstract could be wrong.

That is what I love about art, it’s all about personal interpretation. Beautiful.

Answer #2

His later work… what he is recognized for… is generally regarded as pop art.

Pop art is considered realistic because the focus is to explore mass produced artwork’s impact on the subconscious level.
Pop art’s crassness is the polar opposite of abstract art’s idealism. Lichensteins images are exacting replicas of comic panels including the newsprint dot matrix. His work is super-realistic.
