How to deal with these type of people?

Don’t you hate when people act as if they’re better than everyone else? There’s this guy at school and he’s supposedly this big-hot shot baseball player, and all the girls think he’s so hot. He literally treats EVERYONE like crap and it disgusts me. The only people he treats exceptionally well, are the easy-pretty girls. We were in chemistry one day, and he was talking sh*t about my friend saying she’s fat and ugly, you know like pointing at her and laughing, he said it loud enough for the whole class to hear. That just set me off! I wanted so bad to hit him and put him in his place. I could see the hurt on my friend’s face, and that just completely broke my heart. I was so pissed, to know that someone could so such a thing and feel no remorse whatsoever. How do you deal with these type of people? One more remark from him and I swear I will hit him! And I’m not the violent type of girl. Help please!

I know you’ve heard this before but it’s true violence really doesn’t solve anything. By what you wrote about this “big hot-shot” though it sounds like he is a really insecure guy. Actually a lot of people you see that are arrogant, treat others inferior because they feel superior, and especially talk about others are just insecure with themselves. He needs attention so he acts the way he does because he’s receiving it [you showing anger towards him is giving him more power because you’re showing you care what he thinks so he’s getting exactly what he wanted]. Instead of getting angry at him you should actually feel sorry for him because he feels so bad inside that he feels the urge to pick on others he believes are weaker to him. Unfortunately with our society, there are some people that fall into this category, those jock and cheerleader stereotypes and what not. The best thing to do is to not pay attention to him and have others do the same and watch how defenseless he becomes when he loses the attention for being a jerk he’ll start doing the opposite to get the attention he needs and hopefully he’ll start acting nice.

Screw those people, there’s a little thing called karma. He’ll get a taste of his own medicine someday, except 100 times worst. Just ignore him.
