Technically, yes. Cottage cheese is made of cheese curd, and curd is made when milk is purposely spoiled. The curds are usually washed to turn the acidic flavor into a sweeter flavor.
Its not spoiled milk - the milk is curdled with enzymes. Its similar to other cheese making processes except that its not pressed so its a combination of curds and whey.
Spoiled milk is the least of your worries, trust me! The same bacteria that make people’s feet smell, is used to make cheese. Thats why people feet stink sometimes smell like cheese… yum…
