Why is chocolate dangerous and even fatal to your dog?

Answer #1

There is a chemical in chocolate called theobromine…which is toxic to dogs when they ingest a certain amount (depending on the weight of the dog). Theobromine is similar to caffeine. Caffiene is also toxic to humans, but since humans weigh a lot more than dogs, we can eat it in small amounts with no harm. Caffeine or chocolate can cause harm to infants and small children if they consume too much of it.
