Could I have a cavity from biting down on something hard? (read more)

I bit something hard and have a sensitive feeling on my tooth. Does this lead to a cavity? Most likely I was eating walnuts, and it felt as if something hard got stuck and afterwards, my teeth are very sensitive to drinking anything liquid, room temperature or cold :/ Is this a sign of a cavity? Or just something that felt lodged between my teeth or pushed them down a little making them sensitive? I go to the dentist I believe next month or July.

More likely, you chipped your tooth.
