FunAdvice Advice from: tycoon http://www.funadvice.com/my/advice/tycoon en-us Re: How can I find out my SS number? Here, give me your SS number and I will throw that right into google. I don't think you can find out your own social security number online without going through the social security commission or just checking your birth certificate. tycoon Sun, 24 Jun 2007 15:17:20 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/social_security_number_4504 66232 Re: What if I run into Shane McMahon in NYC? I think the proper etiquette is to stomp on his toe, grab him into a headlock, then suplex the snot out of him. If the bodyguards try to stop you then you tag your buddy's hand and have him jump from a fire hydrant to body slam the guy. Keep beating on him until the ref stops you. tycoon Sun, 24 Jun 2007 15:15:03 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/what_do_i_do_if_i_run_into_shane 66231 Re: How to get a bigger butt. Hmm.. Trans fats would help, but you need to also exercise the waist. Maybe if you ate McDonald's everyday and only did sit-ups for exercise your backside would grow. tycoon Sun, 24 Jun 2007 15:10:21 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/how_to_get_a_bigger_butt_26515 66229 Re: Why is the Yahoo! homepage stuck on the wrong date? You could also just clear your browser files and cookies. Or if you have Firefox then just clear the browser cache. Plus, I would try using other sites than Yahoo. tycoon Sat, 09 Jun 2007 17:34:53 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/yahoo 62302 Re: How can I add video on Dreamweaver? Oh, you want to add flash videos? Well you can drop it onto youtube and call up the html to save bandwidth or put a flash player onto your site using the stuff you get with dreamweaver. tycoon Wed, 23 May 2007 19:47:13 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/video_on_dreamweaver_mx 58461 Re: How do you dance? How about a deep-sea diver guy that fixes tanks from the inside at a waste water treatment plant. If they don't get you to sign up for something, even if that is your information so that they can solicit to you legally on your phone and email, then they can' t afford to pay you. tycoon Wed, 23 May 2007 19:02:38 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/surveys 58452 Re: Makeout Try leaning half way in. Traffic is from either referrals, organic search engine referals, or direct url advertising putting a website in front of a consumer audience enough to the point where they enter it on their computers. You can also buy traffic with Adwords, but if you aren't selling something then arbitrage can be a lot of work for little profits. So the best bang for your buck is to get into...(shhh...)....seo....The search engines don't like seo because it is there to exploit certain functions of the search engine. (i.e. the Google Bomb of George Bush with the search term "miserable failure" in googles search engine. Each search engine is unique in its algorithms and methodology for categorizing all the junk on the net so to optimize you must figure out where you want put your time into getting high rankings in. The stock market should be a clue that Google handles most of the search done on the net so it would be best to address getting into google. That means dealing with "Page Rank". You can see page rank in the google toolbar to get an idea of how high google sees the importance of your site. Rather than intense keyword density and breadth, Google instead first will count up your "inlinks" to see how many people think that you are important besides you. This is the reason that you will see a lot of link exchanges and dealings on the internet that might seem foreign to the newbie adsenser itching to pick up their first check. Use Google's advanced search features to check the inlinks of yourself and your competitors, don't result to comment spamming or link spamming, and don't plagiarize your work. All of your pages should be easy to navigate and have a solid link structure as well as 'clean url's' for running scripts. Your domain name should have a keyword in what it is your website shows, sells, or does. Most of all you need to be patient and look for creative ways to market yourself to get the best viral impact without breaking ethical rules or mass marketing junk. Add as much content as you can and check Google's Adword Keyword suggestion tool for subjects of content that will help you get the traffic you are looking for. tycoon Sat, 25 Nov 2006 23:56:37 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/how_do_i_make_money_with_adsense 28274 Re: Ever try Google ads or being an affiliate? I just saw your geocites page. You might want to invest $20 in a domain and hosting for the next six months. Too many people used the geocites pages early on for spam to let it be trusted anymore by the search engines. You need the search engines to generate the traffic that will click through to pay you. Avoid "rings" or other linked communities unless you know that they still have weight in google. And find clever ways to interject your url on many seperate hosts. tycoon Wed, 01 Nov 2006 01:24:10 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/ever_try_google_ads_or_being_an_affiliate 26034 Re: Ever try Google ads or being an affiliate? Yes. The ads do work. I went a little overboard on the one on my homepage , but it does get clicks. www.water-park-locations.com (the dashes work in yahoo and msn but google I think punishes me for it. The site just went up and is a work in progress but it is already generating revenue.) The secret is traffic that wants to click your ads or doesn't mind clicking the blue links. Traffic increase does not always mean increase in ad clicks though. Ad placement is crucial and the "channel" options in google adsense will make this very easy on you if you label them all properly. You might also try sem arbitrage like these folks www.water--parks.com did. If you see their site structure you can see that they are hoping for higher click through rates to boost volume on a low margin game. This would make it possible to do for a living, but a high working capital is necessary. (getting around 5% marginal revenue.) (Next find your competitor for keywords and jot down there url. Download the compressed files online that contain the AOL search data release that someone had accidentally broadcast. Luckily it is still available and parsing through it will give you keywords that drove traffic to your competitor. Next ........ well, i am helping you stand now you need to take the next steps.) tycoon Wed, 01 Nov 2006 01:12:47 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/ever_try_google_ads_or_being_an_affiliate 26033
