Re: Give a homeless guy money if he tells you he'll use it on drugs?

TIZUBYTHEFIZO -
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTELLIGENCE!! I AM HAPPY TO SEE THAT THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT ACTUALLY LOOK AT THESE SITUATIONS, AND THINK FOR A MINUTE HOW IT WOULD FEEL TO BE IN THAT PERSON'S SHOES INSTEAD OF IMMEDIATLEY PASSING JUDGEMENT LIKE MOST IGNORANT IDIOTS DOOO. GET OVER YOURSELVES PEOPLE... YOUR NOT AS GOOD AS YOU THINK YOUS ARE... ANYWAY, POINT IS... THAT YES, I WOULD GIVE THE GUY A $5.00 BILL IF I HAD IT ON ME, DUE TO THE FACT THAT IF I WAS SLEEPING UNDER A BRIDGE, DIDN'T HAVE ANY FAMILY THAT GAVE A CRAP ABOUT ME, AND DIDN'T HAVE A CHANCE IN HELL OF GETTING OUT OF THIS DEVISTATING SITUATION; I TOO WOULD PROBABLY WANT TO DRINK AND DRUG MYSELF AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE TO REMOVE MYSELF MENTALLY FROM MY DEPRESSING EXISTANCE. CHEW ON THAT THOUGHT; YOU ARROGANT, CLOSE-MINDED, PEOPLE...

Re: Why have food prices increased?

I don't even know where to begin... The cost of buying a house has gone up, the gas is rediculous, and now groceries tooo. This country is going nowhere really fast... I am constantly wishing that I was born back when my grandparents were born, then I would be dead now or almost dead... I hate to sound so negative, but whatever happend to a man being able to go get a factory job and being able to support his whole family on that income. And what happend to women working only if they really wanted too, but were able to stay home and raise their children if that is what they wanted. Now, regardless of what most women want for their children, it is a 2 income society. Women are now forced to abandon their responsibilieties as a mother and a home maker and forced to work to help their husbands, whom are also now underpaid, to pay bills and put food on the damn table. Land of Opportunity, I think not, maybe it was... a lonnng time ago, but not anymore. Our children are being raised by schools and day care programs, they aren't being taught anything about family values and structure... They see their parents for maybe a couple of hours at night monday through friday and if they are lucky may get to spend one weekend day with them (that's if the father hasn't taken on a second job to make up for the increase in the cost of living)... I hope and pray that this country will start to get better, but I fear that when my 9 year old boy and my 4 month old little girl are grown, well, let's just say, I don't even want to think about what they are going to have to go through to simply put food on the table to feed my grandchildren. Somethings got to give here... I just don't know what or when it is going to be.

Re: Can a felon get a job in Tucson AZ

Hello, I am a 29 yr old female. And I am here to tell you that although few, far and inbetween, their is hope... I have 2 convictions, both for possesion of narcotics. I moved out of the state I received the felonies in 3 years ago. I am now drug free, have a new drug free husband, and a brand new 3 month old beautiful little girl (also drug free, ha ha, lol) Although, for identity purposes I do not want to tell you the exact state I recieved the charges in, I will tell you that I lived in the southern part of the us and moved to the midwest. Thank god for this move, because it did truley save my life, but that is a whole other subject and story. Now back to the job for convicted felons situation. Like I said before I have a 3 month old, so I just recently started looking for work, it has been 1 and 1/2 weeks since I started my job search to be exact. I applied for a position doing office work... Yes, the company does background checks, and no I did not check the box for convicted felon, hense, I LIED... So, went on the interview, the interviewer loved me and loved the experience I had. Checked all of my previous employer references, and of course loved them tooo. To make a long story short she offerd me the position pending the background check results and of course the infamous drug test, which of course, I was not worried about at all for once in my life. So I was biting my nails for 2 whole days and thank to the lord jesus up above, I was called and told my background check came back good and they want me to start very soon. All I can say, is keep on trying. I mean think about this, if we spent half of the energy we spent doing drugs and breaking the law on finding a job, we would have sooo many job offers we wouldn't know what to do with them. I know this counrty is on a very fast downward spiral, and I no longer believe that this is the land of opportunity, it was a very long time ago, but not anymore. I know that things are really hard out there, I know becuse I too have been through it, all I can say is use your head, really try, eat, sleep, and drink getting a job and something will eventually come along. Stay away from big corporations, look for a small, medium sized companies that don't do background checks, they do exist believe it or not... As for me, I got lucky and am very blessed. The employer that hired me, only checked statewide, had they done it nationwide, I would have been screwed. Good luck to you...

Re: Where can felons find a job?

JUST KEEP ON TRYING!!! AND LIE LIE LIE!! COME ON GUYS WE ARE FELONS, WE KNOW HOW TO MANOOVER (PROBABLY SPELLED WRONG HA HA). IF WE PUT HALF OF THE ENERGY INTO FINDING A JOB THAT WE DID INTO BREAKING THE LAW, WE'D BE FINE... I AM 29 YEARS OLD, FEMALE. 2 CONVICTIONS BOTH FOR POSSESION OF NARCOTICS. I JUST GOT A GREAT JOB WITH GREAT BENEFITS... THEY ONLY DID A STATEWIDE CHECK AND I AM NOT FROM THE STATE THAT I LIVE IN NOW... SO THE FELONIES DID NOT COME UP. I AM SOOO GRATEFUL FOR THIS, DON'T GET ME WRONG, I WAS SOOO WORRIED THAT THESE FELONIES WERE GOING TO STOP ME FROM GETTING A JOB, BUT NOPE, I ONLY BEEN LOOKING FOR ONE WEEK AND I AM ALREADY HIRED. I EVEN ASKED THE EMPLOYER HOW MY BACKGROUND CHECK CAME OUT, AND SHE STATED THEY DID THREE STATEWIDE CHECKS AND IT ALL CAME BACK WITH NO MATCHES, SO I AM GOLDEN... HOPEFULLY (HA HA) JUST KEEP TRYING THAT IS ALL I CAN TELL YOU, IF YOU REALLY WANT SOMETHING YOU HAVE TO GO FOR IT ALL THE WAY. EAT, SLEEP, AND DRINK GETTING A JOB AND IF YOU REALLY WANT ONE YOU WILL GET ONE...

Re: Debt from drugs

I am a 29 yr old female who had a 7 yr herion addiction. I have been clean for 4 years and am doing very well, I have a new husband and a new baby and I have never been happier... This was not easy for me to get to. I went through a lot of suffering to get here, but I am sooo proud of myself and my accomplishments and would never go back to the life I was living before. I do not believe in NA and AA, so I am not the one to talk to about meetings and such, I believe a person has to find the want within themselves to want to change and no addiction program will help if the person is not ready, however, if your husband is ready to change, and he really wants it then their is hope.. I don't know what his drug of choice is, so I don't know what the next step for him will be. If it is narcotics then he should definitly check into a detox center and clean his system out, so that he can begin to mentally fight his addiction. That is the problem with herion and narcotics, their is the physical addiction as well as the mental addiction, so first thing is first, you have to treat the physical dependency then move on to the mental stage of it... If his problem is with cocain or methamphetamine, then it is a whole different ball game, he basically just needs to have the want to change. Whatever the situation, the want to change needs to come from him and not from you, cause if he is doing it for you, he is going to fail. He has to be doing it for himself. You really need to find out what he really wants. Maybe he doesn't want to stop at which point, you will need to evaluate what your next move is... If he wants to change and you love him, then stick by him and it may take a few times to get it right, but in the end he will succeed if he really wants to change.. Good Luck...
