FunAdvice Advice from: noname55alanna http://www.funadvice.com/my/advice/noname55alanna Well, how to sum it up...I'm a hard working person, Captain of a juniors fire group, President of a juniors ems group (two different companies). I'm a artist, writer, and I'm a CFR (certified first responder). I've lived in New York State my whole life and love it and the Buffalo Bills and Sabres! I'm a 11th grader and love to hang out, when I have time, with my many friends! I love to help people and that's why I'm associated with a fire hall and ambulance service and I'm here to help anyone! ~Alanna en-us Re: High School High school is not as bad as it is at times made out to be. I'm going to be a junior this year and I was a bit worried going into ninth grade but it turned out to be a great year. The best thing you can do is to join clubs and if you play sports continue that throughout high school. The way your high school years go is dependent on how you go about them. I enjoyed meeting new people from different middle schools and making new friends. I'm in a few clubs and play volleyball and softball. These years coming up for you will be important; you'll be planning out many things for your future. The truth is high school is similar to middle school except there are more kids, classes, clubs, friends, and yes drama; however, when you have a bunch of kids together there will always be some drama. Enjoy the next 4 years, and have fun! ~Alanna noname55alanna Mon, 14 Jul 2008 09:26:14 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/high_school_1416 425006 Re: Is there a site to help me learn math? I study for school tests of all classes on schoolisland.com, its a great site with pretty much every main class listed from math to social. noname55alanna Tue, 04 Mar 2008 12:34:42 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/need_help_with_math 248939 Re: How do I balance school work and a social life? I'm just like you and was last year when I was in ninth grade. I haven't had a lunch or study hall at all for the last two years due to how many classes I've taken. You just have to plan out what you have to do. Set aside some time after or later in the day when you can just sit down and to homework. If you have plans for a certain day plan to do your homework after your done or right after school. I'm a duo student, as well, with college courses. The thing your going to have to think about, however, is that a college coarse is a college coarse. It's going to require a lot more of your time than any of the regular classes. My Western Civilizations coarse takes me anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours a day because of the reading. Remember, though, take time for yourself every once in a while and go and do what you want. That’s the hardest thing sometimes for people to do. You have to find a balance between your social life and school work. Everyone has different ways in which they do it; It will take you time but you should be able to figure out a plan. Good luck in school. noname55alanna Tue, 04 Mar 2008 12:29:24 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/how_do_i_balance_school_work_and 248929 Re: Is anyone here involved with firefighting or EMS? Congrats, I'm just ending my CFR, certified first responder, course now. I had my practicals last week and passed them all the first time, I would have died if I had to redue any of them. lol. Thanks for posting. ~Alanna noname55alanna Wed, 09 Jan 2008 13:28:20 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/is_there_anyone_that_is_involved 182413 Re: Can it be controlled ? Truly, what is terrorism? Just a person or group of people who commit a crime(s) towards another person or group of people. Why is it that there’s a different name from just calling it a crime? From my dictionary terrorism is “ violence or the threat of violence, especially bombing, kidnapping, and assassination, carried out often for political purposes.” People are committing violence everyday whether it’s a bombing, kidnapping, or assassination but its not always called terrorism. People are calling in with bomb threats to other places and only once in a while is it called terrorism. Whether terrorism happens from one country to another, one group to another or one person to another ( whether their from the same country or from different ones ) it doesn’t make a difference. Governments can’t stop every single crime that may happen but they can, however, take steps in which to help prevent some crime from happening; The same goes for terrorism. If people or a person decide they want to act the government isn’t going to be able to stop everyone just like they can’t stop everyone within their own territories from shooting their neighbors, just because they wanted to or just because they felt like it. The Islamic nation could always improve its ability to stop terrorism but the same goes for all countries. Sadly we live in a time where theirs violence all around and the most countries have been able to do is try to prevent a majority of terrorism or violence from happening within, on, and around their borders. Christians, Islam’s, Jews, Hindu’s, Buddhist’s, Chinese, Muslims, American’s, Europeans, Russians, Indians, the list goes on and on. It’s not always a matter of religion or of government it’s the people themselves either as a group or one or two alone. It’s due to disagreements within each person’s religion or government or their own beliefs that is the bases for terrorism or violence. A person could just decide that a person who had had an argument with them the day before should die, and the very next day bomb a whole building of people just because the person that they didn’t like was in the same building; killing innocent people all due to an argument. We all live on Earth were there’s violence and the most that can be done is to try to prevent it from happening. All governments could improve their ability to prevent terrorism but no matter what precautions are used there will be those who get around and are able to inflict violence. ~Alanna noname55alanna Thu, 27 Dec 2007 23:56:11 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/can_it_be_controlled 168905 Re: Do you agree or disagree with Iraq? Of the numerous people I know not all of them back Bush, they actually are against what he is doing. Yes, many people do back him but not everyone. There are those that completely despise everything George Bush does and what he's about. No matter what happens, there will always be people that agree and disagree with a leader but sometimes there’s more of a certain opinion, such as more people disagreeing with Bush’s actions than agreeing with them. ~Alanna noname55alanna Mon, 19 Nov 2007 12:16:46 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/agree_or_disagree_127403 137450 Re: Is this punishment fair? Thank you for saying you'll read the Bible, I just hope you see what I mean about people reading the Quran when you haven't read the Bible. I'm working right now on getting my own copy of the Quran. I like knowing things on both sides of a debate. This does not mean however that I will be changing my faith, but learning more on religious aspects and ideas. On that note, I will make my own decisions. ~Alanna noname55alanna Sun, 21 Oct 2007 11:56:08 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/does_christianity_exist 116619 Re: Does Christianity exist? I'm not trying to exploit the followers of Islam, but you say that it is error free yet the followers, who are a part of the religion, have little to do with it. I also don't understand the fact that you would tell others to read the Quran, yet you said you haven't read the Bible. That really makes no sense to me; you want people to read the Quran but you won't read the Bible. You say you wouldn't waste your time but couldn't Christians and others not of your religion say the same thing about reading the Quran? ~Alanna noname55alanna Sat, 20 Oct 2007 21:47:32 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/does_christianity_exist 116441 Re: Is it possible that Terrorism is caused by this? I don't believe that these problematic situations that have aroused in the world solely because of the Islamic religion. Every religion has good and bad people, as well as negative and positive interpretations of the religion. I believe it is the people that hide behind these religions that are causing unrest in the world. There are many examples throughout history of a person hiding behind their religion. By doing this the person ends up gaining support from the followers of that religion. In this world there are leaders and the opposite, followers. There are few "leaders" in the world compared with "followers." The people of the religion that are followers would thus do as they are instructed and follow that path with the leader. Usually, the more outspoken and compulsive the leader(s) is the better results. The world has problems because of the imperfections of human beings themselves and not the religions. It is human nature to be either a leader or follower, a predator or the prey. I have met people who say they are Christian but are plain rude, but I have also met Christians that are some of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Not only Christians but Jews, Muslims, and Buddhists, etc. that I have met have been unpleasant but I have also met others of the same religion that I am happy I met, as well. Islamic people would not have as much problems today if this war wasn't going on. I'm not entirely educated in this aspect, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but back during the Crusades weren't the Christians later discriminated just like the Islam’s now? The same can be said about the Holocaust, with Adolf Hitler and the Jewish society. Islamic people are the main focus right now because of the war and many people tend to focus on the main clause and not the whole picture. ~Alanna noname55alanna Sat, 20 Oct 2007 21:37:43 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/is_it_possible_41 116437 Re: What are these symptoms? Don't fret, I get them all time and no I do not have herpes. Some people get them because they have a cold. It's the a natural defense to get rid of the sickness. The Qur'an teaches peace not war. Why are you trying to express your feelings about Christianity so negatively? If Islam is not flawed, then why are the Sunnis and Shiites, Sha'i, fighting each other? The Sunnis believe that Muhammah didn't designate a successor while the Shiities believe that he did, wouldn't that be considered a flaw and different belief's in one religion? Osama bin Laden speaks the words of the Koran yet he uses it as an excuse for the terrorist attacks on the U.S.A. If the Quran is supposed to teach peace then why is it that instead of calling a meeting or a peaceful way to get together to explain the problems bin Laden attacks? There are many similarity's between Christianity and Islam as well. We both believe in one God, that Jesus lived, that there is life after death and have a place of worship, Christians-church, chapel, cathedral and Islam- mosque. The Bible is changing so people in this century can comprehend it much better, the messages stay the same. Judaisism was founded around 2090 B.C.E., Christianity around 33 A.D.E. and Islam in 622 A.D.E. All of these relgions are similar and Islam has branched out from Judaism and Christianity just like Christianity branched out from Judaism. Have have a few questions for you as well: 1.) Have you read the Bible? 2.) Why would you bring what you believe about Christianity up in such a negative way? 3.) Isn't it enough that we at least all believe in God, Allah? 4.) If the Koran speaks peace, then why would you say such negative things? There are flaws in every religion and there will always be those who disagree with what you believe in whether they believe in something else or are just a rebel against doing what others around them are doing. This post is going to go on forever because everyone has different beliefs and certain people will have a hostile opinion towards the way you brought this post up and some of the things that have been said just like you would be unhappy about some of the things that people would say about your religion. I accept you and your beliefs and I would expect that you would do the same towards others and I. Would you dicriminate against someone who wasn't your race but believed in the same religion that you do? Or someone who doesn't have the same hair or eye color? There's many people out there that would sit and go back and forth over this matter and waste their time but the fact is that this post is one that will go on and on with people expressing the same thing one after another. ~Alanna noname55alanna Mon, 15 Oct 2007 14:49:14 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/does_christianity_exist 113013 Re: Does Christianity exist? Dear unknowngod, How would you like it if I was to call you a fool just for believing in your religion? I don't appreciate it but after reading all that you have written on this page it doesn't bother me at least one bit coming from a person that attacks other religions just because he doesn't believe in them. People have the right to believe in what they want period. You don't believe in the crucifixion of Jesus, fine, don't its up to you. As for Christianity, there's no way that you could prove it doesn't exist. If there are people out there that believe in the religion and follow it, it's real. ALL religions are based on many belief's and idea's about the universe. To the people that believe in those religions its real. I believe that your religion is real because you believe in it and other people do as well. I believe my religion, Christianity, is real because many others and I believe in the religion. I would think that if someone was to attack your religion, as the way your doing now, you would be unhappy about it. I believe everyone has a right to their own opinions and to voice them but only in a positive manner. The manner in which you have brought this subject is just rude and I doubt that in its said in your religion that you should attack others this way. For a majority of your posts you've mentioned science and the validity of what it has uncovered. First, I have studied to a certain extent, I can't say I know everything, Islam, Judaism and Christianity because there's so much, yours and other religions and have read several things about science verses religions. Your using science to explain things when science is the one thing that works against all religions, such as the "Big Bang Theory" and the human evolution. In science there is no god(s) because there is nothing to prove it other than writings and such. Science is meant to prove how the world works without religion and to use it the way you are is slightly redundant. Your religion, and if I'm incorrect please inform me, believes in one god that created the world but science is trying to prove that the world was formed by a huge explosion of gases and that man has evolved from species similar to apes. You have a right to voice your opinion but should do it respectfully towards other religions and the people that believe in them. I would never ask you to change your religion or belief's. I would also never say negative things about your belief's or call people that believe in a certain religion a fool. Everyone has a right to their own belief's. ~Alanna noname55alanna Sun, 14 Oct 2007 19:48:50 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/does_christianity_exist 112801 Re: Do you love God? Yes, I do love God. I do respect others believes and wouldn't ever try to change what they believe. It's there right to express what they believe, in a positive manner, just like it is mine. ~Alanna noname55alanna Sun, 14 Oct 2007 18:58:31 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/do_you_love_god 112751 Re: Would you die a martyr for your country? I would die for my people fighting, not strapping a bomb to myself, but not for my government. There's a major difference in fighting for your family, friends and neighbors and fighting just for something your government leaders want but don't necessarily need. ~Alanna noname55alanna Sun, 14 Oct 2007 18:41:33 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/die_martyr 112721
