FunAdvice Advice from: mysticunicrn http://www.funadvice.com/my/advice/mysticunicrn en-us Re: Which motor oil to use? My husband works on cars and he says that if you have a car with a lot of miles on it or it is a older model to use 20w 50. It is a little thicker and the oil won't break down as fast. I hope this helps. mysticunicrn Sun, 15 Jun 2008 11:47:30 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/which_motor_oil_to_use 384191 Re: What's wrong with my cat? No way to diagnose on the internet but you cat may simply miss the outdoors. Or there maybe some infection or something in the other eye, or his hearing is going. I have a poodle that is blind and now his hearing is gone also. It is really sad to see but allow the cat to do what he likes to do. Being careful with the other cats around cause your cat is very vunerable to other cats. And when you get the chance to take the cat to the vet then do it. You are not preventing the cat from dying, you are just showing the cat you love it. Good luck to you and your cat. mysticunicrn Mon, 19 May 2008 00:42:58 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/what_s_wrong_with_my_cat_136050 352868 Re: No food No Sleep since the accident So sorry you had to witness that, but even this can be a positive in your life. Force yourself to eat and don't worry about sleep, it will come in time when you look at the positive. Think of how blessed you are that it was not someone you knew like a brother, uncle, or father. This is a positive because it shows you that your actions in life make a difference and I feel that you will be a better person after witnessing this tragedy. Do things that make you feel better...talk with the family, make them food and take to the house, clean up for them. The major thing is that you feel totally helpless and if you feel you are doing something you will feel a little better. Allow yourself time...this is very important, understand that if you didn't care it would not bother you. So that tells me that you are a very caring person and you understand how precious a life can be. Be patient with yourself. mysticunicrn Wed, 07 May 2008 19:13:22 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/no_food_no_sleep 338864 Re: How to tell someone you don't want to do something? You have to learn to please yourself. Be true to yourself and if you do not want to do something then don't do it. A friend or anyone else if they are really your friend or whatever will respect your wishes. This is the reason peer pressure is such of a problem these days because most of the time someone really doesn't want to do something and then gives in so that they can satisfy someone else. You don't have to be mean when you say no, but be firm and stick with what you say. mysticunicrn Wed, 07 May 2008 18:59:53 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/pressure_3456 338851 Re: Stimilus package I am not exactly sure but I did get this from the irs.gov website, maybe you can look there and find more information. Or call a local income tax service and ask them. From the irs website it says: Generally, people must have a valid Social Security number, have at least $3,000 in qualified income and not be a dependent or eligible to be a dependent on someone else's return. mysticunicrn Mon, 05 May 2008 19:24:12 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/stimilus_package 336665 Re: Been having weird thoughts like this for about a month Just like a person that has a drinking problem or a drug problem there are going to be times that you think about it more often than other times. You need to find something else that you can do when you start to thinking about it. Like write down your feelings, or light a nice smelling candle, or find a friend you can call and talk to. Anything enjoyable that you can do to show yourself that you are worth way more than cutting yourself. You have so much to offer, because you overcame a problem that has caused problems for a lot of people. Think about getting on message boards related to the subject and give someone else some encouragement. Good luck to you. mysticunicrn Mon, 05 May 2008 03:19:26 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/uhm 335877 Re: Is bleaching your teeth bad for them? I don't think a dentist is going to do something that damages your teeth. Now if you were trying to do something without the supervision of your dentist I could understand your family having a problem with it. mysticunicrn Mon, 05 May 2008 03:09:29 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/is_bleaching_your_teeth_bad_for_it 335875 Re: What is minimum wage in new york? $7:15 per hour mysticunicrn Sun, 04 May 2008 22:59:03 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/minamum_wage 335819 Re: Is it a crime to run away? You can be picked up and put in jail and have to go before the judge. The judge can order you to go back home and if you refuse he can award the state custody of you and you can be put in foster care. Usually that is rare but it can be done. If you can, hold out for a little while longer and you can leave without running away. Good luck to you. mysticunicrn Sun, 04 May 2008 22:54:38 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/is_it_a_crime_to_run_away 335818 Re: What should I give my son for stomach pains/cramping, etc? My son had stomach pains and cramps at a young age. Went to the doctor and he ran all kinds of test and found out that my sons stomach was not producing enough of enzymes to break his food up enough. That was causing the pains, so my doctor put my son on mylanta or one of those type liquid meds. I had to do this for several years until he got older. The doc said to do a teaspoon twice a day, morning and night. I am not saying this is what your son has, but the mylanta would not be a bad idea. What about diet? Get a chart and record what he eats and when he has his stomach pains. Fried foods are really bad on the stomach as is spicy foods. Does he drink carbonated drinks? They are really bad also. Good luck to you and your son. mysticunicrn Wed, 30 Apr 2008 03:09:07 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/what_should_i_give_my_son_for_stomach 330569 Re: What do I say to my friend whose parents just died? That is the point, you do not say anything. Let them do the talking if they want. Just gives lots of hugs and listen to them. If you feel you need to say something...you can say, 'I am sorry' 'I want to help you anyway I can' 'I will always be here for you' Good luck. You and your friend is in my prayers. mysticunicrn Wed, 30 Apr 2008 02:16:15 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/my_freinds_parents_just_died_what 330539 Re: He won't stop asking me out Please don't give in to him, you already know what he wants. Text him, call him or whatever you need to do and tell him that you are not that type of person anymore and to leave you alone. Don't waste your time on anyone that wants you for that one thing. If he gets it, he will be gone. This is very very close to date rape. Which is have had done to me. He wanted to go on a date and then he was very aggressive at what he wanted and when I said no he got mad and hit the dash with his fist and then I gave in out of fear. Say no and then get away and stay away, if that don't work tell someone. Don't ever do something that you truely do not want to do. Good luck. mysticunicrn Wed, 23 Apr 2008 17:27:10 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/still_keep_asking_me_he_is 322539 Re: Does a 2.0 GPA mean I'm dumb? I am in college and if you go below a 2.0 then they put you on acedemic probation. That only means that your grades are not the best in the world. You are not dumb, some people just have to work harder at making better grades than others. I am one of them. I am a 3.5 and gosh it is so hard to keep it there. But my daughter on the other hand never hardly opens a book and is a 4.0. 2.0 just means you need to work harder, that is all. Good luck to you! mysticunicrn Mon, 21 Apr 2008 21:07:15 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/grades_3934 320190 Re: I know this is in my mind Everyone has different taste. Just because I tell my daughter I don't like something that she is wearing or wanting to buy does not mean that I am being mean. She asks for my opinion and I give it to her. Sometimes she listens and sometimes she doesn't. Do not over analyze things or what people say. Sometimes it is just simply a opinion and that is it. Good luck! mysticunicrn Sat, 19 Apr 2008 04:27:08 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/i_know_this_is_in_my_mind 317418 Re: My parents are getting a divorce You do nothing. You let your parents be the adults even if they are not acting like it at the moment. They will work it out, either together or as seperate individuals. And until your mom gets things straightened out a little more, I think you should go with your dad. Although the situation looks bad it will not be like that forever. Focus on school, friends, and don't get into any trouble. It will all work out. mysticunicrn Wed, 09 Apr 2008 02:28:08 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/my_parents_are_getting_a_divorce 304177 Re: Songs to make me cry What Hurts the Most by Rascal Flatts I cried when I watched the video, so sad mysticunicrn Tue, 08 Apr 2008 01:12:56 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/songs_to_make_me_cry 302428 Re: How did Mr. McMahon survive the limo blowing up??? I think simply you are just scared of things in life in general. Which is normal to be scared. With the world like it is you are 'scared to open the door'. The people you love and hate represents life and someone knocking at the door is the future or present. Thunder and lighting is probably something you don't like. I do believe that dreams are representations of ones feelings but I also feel that most people have dreams that are over active. Read a little into your dreams, but not much. Take a look at things like caffiene intake, watching television, nicotine intake and make some changes there and see if you start dreaming good things or not dreaming at all. But also while I believe that, I did have a terrible dream to come true one time. mysticunicrn Wed, 02 Apr 2008 06:25:07 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/dreams_4440 293189 Re: If you could name the next feature we added, what would that be? A few things I think would be nice is...a choice of color type and different fonts, to let us be a little creative. Also I think at the bottom of where you post, where it says 'Email me when this topic gets updated' I think this feature should be by default unchecked. Some I do want to keep a check on but most I answer and go on, but I always forget to uncheck the box on the ones that I do not want to get an email about. I get sooo many topic updated emails. Another thing is... I think it is time for you to start up FunAdvice Anonymos. I think I am hooked. Hello my names is mysticunicrn and I am a FunAdviceaholic. Bettas are meant to be alone. But I have had bettas in tanks with other fish. It all depends on if it is a aggressive beta. So you just have to test the water a little with other fish like mollies, neons, and other non aggressive fish. Put the betta in the tank and be ready to scoop him up with a net to take him out if he acts like he is going to fight the other fish. The bettas will nip at the fancy taled fish so it is best not to put the betta with them. And they almost always fight with each other. In my experience with them over the years, the red bettas seem to be more aggressive than the other colors. mysticunicrn Tue, 01 Apr 2008 21:15:40 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/bettas_139420 292865 Re: Is god with me? I can answer this!! lol When your friends are saying that God is in their heart, the are saying that in their heart they are really a good person and really deeply that they want to do the right thing when situations arises. Like when someone ask you did you do something, and you know you did, instead of blurting out a lie you tell the truth and you really don't feel right unless you do the right thing. I don't go to church like I should due to health issues, but I do pray and everytime I get in a situation I ask myself if I am going to have to ask for forgiveness if I chose the wrong direction. I do have thoughts of doing the wrong thing but I do feel that God is in my heart because most of the time, I do what is right. Does that help any? mysticunicrn Sun, 30 Mar 2008 21:28:54 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/is_god_with_me 289754 Re: Darvocet? Most places will ask you if you have taken any perscription meds, they will ask you to list the meds you took. When they are doing a drug test they are not asking for perscription meds, they are looking for recreational drugs. They would not know if you actually had a perscription for the darvocet. mysticunicrn Sat, 29 Mar 2008 00:10:00 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/darvocet_16009 287328
