FunAdvice Advice from: monicacharlene http://www.funadvice.com/my/advice/monicacharlene Hello. I am 34 years old. I have 4 sons. I like the color pink, eating popcorn with lots of butter, coca-cola, my brother and my sister, my children, my computer, my newsletter, gourmet coffee, Harry Potter, Dr. House, my house, Stephen King, Bruce Springstein, Dee Schneider, lobster, shrimp, McDonald's, writing, learning, doing hair, dancing, and so much more. One of my favorite things is when I am drinking a smoothie and a piece of fruit comes up through the straw. I don't like pimples, the smell of mildew, fleas, fish, bad teeth, pans that lose their teflon coating, and a few other things. My hero is my Dad. He is not with me anymore, but one time he told me the story of his near-death experience. He said there was a bright light and he was floating and it was so peaceful. He felt no pain or sadness. I asked him why he did not just go on instead of coming back. He replied, "When I reached the final destination, it sure was hot down there! The journey there was the only thing peaceful" My Dad was a great man and he was very funny. He was the light of my life and he told me I hung the moon. I believe him. I placed that moon right where you see it today! I have been through some painful experiences and have had some great times. I will share what I can with anyone who asks. en-us Re: How do I get people to take me seriously? The other reason you might be taking those honor classes is to PROVE to the world you are not just another dumb blonde! Here's the deal, you may be trying very hard to show people you are not stupid with your cute reading glasses and your high GPA. My father taught me this; It doesn't matter what it takes for someone to get there, it matters what they do with it when they get there. My dad was referring to AA, but it can applied elsewhere. Even if your motives for applying your intelligence are not entirely about YOU yet, what you do with the knowledge you acquire is what's important. Stop worrying about what everyone thinks about you. You are doing what you need to do. Once people realize that you don't care what they think about you, they may start to take you a bit more seriously. monicacharlene Sat, 15 Sep 2007 10:32:44 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/how_do_i_get_people_to_take_me_seriously 99472 Re: What do you believe? A concept invented by someone...not found in the the bible. Interesting. What are some other "concepts' created that are not found in the bible? Hmmm. monicacharlene Tue, 11 Sep 2007 21:55:10 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/what_do_you_believe 97974 Re: Is it safe to dye your hair two days in a row? Before I can answer you with the best possible advice, I need to know some important information. What did you use to color your hair blonde and what is your natural hair color? monicacharlene Tue, 11 Sep 2007 20:42:27 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/dying_hair_8121 97938 Re: What do you believe? A new question inspired from dolce84...Did you know that some of the Christian beliefs, such as Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny are taken from Pagan traditions? Seriously. Easter is representative of the goddess Eastre (unsure of the spelling) and the egg is a symbol of something. Christians had to change those traditions into something that had meaning so it wouldn't be as though Christians were worshiping a different God. There is a lot more to this. Do the research. There are a lot of traditions Christians practice and the origin and history came from Paganism. Where in the bible does it say Jesus was born on December 25th? If my memory serves me right, the bible mention his birth being in the warmer months. I know, I know, in different parts of the world warm months could be during the cold months for the US. If I was a Pagan, I would laugh at Christians. But, alas, Pagans don't laugh. They are very kind and accepting people, and they DON'T worship the devil. I have a question totally off the specific subjects. Who invented the Trinity? I don't need an explanation of what the three components are that make up the Trinity. I am talking about the denominations of Christianity that hold the Trinity in such high regard. That explanation of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit being One, is not found in the bible. Who decided to give it a name? To me, that is just another way man interprets the bible in his own way. Last thing, dolce84, thank you for answering my questions. monicacharlene Tue, 11 Sep 2007 10:48:30 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/what_do_you_believe 97609 Re: Can I be pregnant if I get my period? If a woman is pregnant and experiencing bleeding, it is NOT her period. No matter what so many women will say, ANY bleeding during pregnancy is not normal. If you begin to bleed around the estimated time your period was scheduled to start, this is most likely your normal period and you are not pregnant. sikashimmer has answered your question perfectly! I concur her advice. monicacharlene Mon, 10 Sep 2007 23:37:24 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/pregnant_911 97457 Re: Am I a psychic or psycho? The herpes sores (commonly called cold sores) you can get on your lips and inside the mouth are Herpes Simplex 1 and Genital Herpes are Herpes Simplex 2. They are two different strains of the herpes virus. Chicken pox is also a strand of a herpes virus. monicacharlene Mon, 10 Sep 2007 23:17:23 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/herpes_23795 97443 Re: Can you answer these interesting questions? 1. "Eating you out" is a slang term for receiving oral sex, as yours4lifebaby has said. Oral sex can be performed on either the man or woman. For a woman, the person who is giving the oral sex, use their mouth and tongue to stimulate pleasure on and around her vaginal area. The man receives oral sex from his partner by placing their mouth onto his penis and stimulating him with their tongue and mouth. Men give themselves "hand jobs" often. It is simply using one's hand in an up-and down motion applying some pressure until the man reaches climax. monicacharlene Sun, 09 Sep 2007 00:50:52 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/what_does_eat_u_out_mean_s_x 96501 Re: What's going on with me down there? Seek medical attention. I have not ever heard anything like this. Make an appointment and get to the doctor. It sounds like some of your symptoms are a urinary tract infection, but I am not a doctor. The sooner you get to a doctor, the sooner you will get answers. monicacharlene Sun, 09 Sep 2007 00:11:20 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/answer_asap 96473 Re: What do you believe? I know you said you did not want to be rude and sikashimmer has told you the best way to handle spoilers. But if it were me, I would make such a big deal out of it. I would plug my ears and start to sing, "LALALALALA" very loud. I would then explain, with my ears still covered, that I had not finished the series and I did not want to hear a thing. Of course it isn't possible to avoid everything but there are ways to prevent it being ruined for you. It is worth being surprised. Let me just tell you about what Ron and Hermione did in chapter 14...Kidding! :) I am excited for you to get through the series. The books were awesome! monicacharlene Sat, 08 Sep 2007 23:57:54 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/how_do_i_avoid_harry_potter_spoilers 96459 Re: How do I get people to take me seriously? I don't think you are being completely honest with yourself. People treat you how you let them and how your perceive yourself makes a difference. Are you wearing reading glasses as a fashion statement? It sounds like it from your question. If you don't take yourself seriously, others will not either. Are you keeping the high grade point average and taking the honor classes to prove something to other people? Maybe if people knew you are working very hard in school because you are securing a future for yourself, they would be more apt to take you seriously. People are not idiots. We react to others based upon the signal they send out. You can change other's opinions about you, but it starts with you. Separate your school from your social life. monicacharlene Sat, 08 Sep 2007 14:36:28 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/how_do_i_get_people_to_take_me_seriously 96225 Re: How to get my Mum to be less overprotective? SIgh, roll your eyes, complain, but somehow try to remember that as annoying as she is, she is a good mother. Being respectful to her, your father, and yourself while at home is important. She doesn't have but 2 years left to have any control over you. Humor her. Let her be a mother. Then when you are out of her sight and your boobies pop free to bounce around some more, remember what she has taught you and make good choices. You will be a good mother one day and will have your own to thank. monicacharlene Sat, 08 Sep 2007 14:06:47 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/my_mum 96220 Re: How can I deal with my teenage daughter? I don't have a teenager yet, (5 months before the dreaded 13) and I don't have daughters, BUT, I want to say one thing, While being her friend, don't forget to still be the parent. Wish I could help more, but my oldest is 12. :) monicacharlene Sat, 08 Sep 2007 13:55:50 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/how_can_i_deal_with_my_teenage_daughter 96218 Re: Unknown Of course people will accept your apology. Mandy Moore is so cute and I just loved her in "Saved". monicacharlene Sat, 08 Sep 2007 13:14:33 -0700 96200 Re: Is my Mom a hoe? Slut is another very derogatory word and no one should call anyone's mother that. That was incredibly rude. dec94 is trying to make a great point. And I agree that your mother should not be doing these things. You are a good daughter and you need her to be a good mother. By showing her respect, you can ask the same from her. monicacharlene Sat, 08 Sep 2007 01:04:37 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/is_my_mom_a_ho 96011 Re: Unknown Instead of taking the time to criticize what you think are not "real questions", help someone. There are many categories to choose from. As pointed out, this is not a crisis center. It is a fun website and you cannot tell other members what questions to ask. You may think you are not trying to be rude, but you are. You do not have any right to dictate what kinds of questions can and can't be posted. I am sure if you continue to post these types of questions, they will be locked or deleted. Your posts are insulting. This is a great place to get all kinds advice, from hair color to thoughts of suicide. Now how about you post a question on a different subject. I think this one has gone as far as it can go. You have received replies to your inquiries and this should not need be discussed any further. Try to enjoy this site. It is great. :) monicacharlene Sat, 08 Sep 2007 00:54:03 -0700 96008 Re: What if girls don't like me and I don't want to change? It has taken me some time to think about your question and how I can answer it to hopefully best help you. Your style fits your personality. You like rap music and you like the clothes. You DO NOT have be black to like a certain style of music. If that were the case, then only red necks should like country music, only punks should like rock, etc. Society SHOULD accept you for who you are and what you can offer, not what you look like or how you dress. Sometimes people, especially parents, want to protect kids so bad we forget to let you BE kids. It is not always a fair world. The reality is, even though we know how it should be, it isn't always so. I am a parent and I am quick to tell my son, "It's just a phase" or "You are not leaving my house looking like that.". I am not intentionally trying to keep him from expressing himself, I just know what a cruel world it can be sometimes. So you have to decide, are you willing to take the remarks, the name-calling, etc. you will get because you choose to be yourself instead of conforming to the "norm"? You said you didn't mind the name-calling. So maybe you are prepared for what is to come your way. I hope so. Always be true to yourself. As for the girls, well, be patient. I know you don't want to hear that, but there are girls who appreciate a man who is true to himself and look past the clothes to find out who the guy is behind the outfit. Someone is always going to tell you no, but then there will be that one that will say yes. It takes us a women a little bit longer to get past the superficial stuff. But some of us do get there. Tell girls this is who you are and you wouldn't want to be with a girl who doesn't respect you for being who you are anyway. Some people want to express themselves, but are too scared of what people will say. Us girls are like that bad! Especially high school girls. It is only because we are so damn mean to each other. I admire you. Society has set unspoken rules. You have to dress this way, eat this way, look this way, act this way, etc. There are people who say, "Screw that, I want to be ME". Can you imagine what gay people still have to go through when they choose to be openly gay? And all you want to do is wear what you want and listen the music you like. The best thing you can do it NOT CHANGE who you are for anyone. The girls will soon come when they realize you are not fake. When someone is confident and respects themselves, it shows. It is a very sexy quality in a man. You don't have to be rude, just be assertive and mean what you say. Never lie and never follow. There may be a girl that is already wishing she had the nerve to talk to you. She may find you. In the meantime, be respectful to your parents and friends and let them know you expect the same. Here is a cheesy one, but it works, treat others how you want them to treat you. The next time someone tells you they like a song that is totally "stupid", don't be so quick to give them a hard time, say, "Cool". Just be yourself. There are people who have matured enough to know you can't always judge a book by its cover. monicacharlene Sat, 08 Sep 2007 00:43:07 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/plz_give_me_some_advice 96004 Re: What Would Be A Song ... That Descirbes me Saying "White Flag" I know you think that I shouldn't still love you, Or tell you that. But if I didn't say it, well I'd still have felt it where's the sense in that? I promise I'm not trying to make your life harder Or return to where we were I will go down with this ship And I won't put my hands up and surrender There will be no white flag above my door I'm in love and always will be I know I left too much mess and destruction to come back again And I caused nothing but trouble I understand if you can't talk to me again And if you live by the rules of "it's over" then I'm sure that that makes sense I will go down with this ship And I won't put my hands up and surrender There will be no white flag above my door I'm in love and always will be And when we meet Which I'm sure we will All that was there Will be there still I'll let it pass And hold my tongue And you will think That I've moved on... I will go down with this ship And I won't put my hands up and surrender There will be no white flag above my door I'm in love and always will be I will go down with this ship And I won't put my hands up and surrender There will be no white flag above my door I'm in love and always will be I will go down with this ship And I won't put my hands up and surrender There will be no white flag above my door I'm in love and always will be monicacharlene Fri, 07 Sep 2007 21:58:43 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/what_would_be_a_song_that_descirbes 95964
