I used to wait and just let my parents find out themselves. I always felt uncomfortable talking about things like this with them. I seriously do NOT suggest this. I wish I would have just casually brought it up in a conversation. There are always times when it would be perfect to sneak it in. I do suggest telling a story about this boy (at an appropriate time in conversation). Then that can lead into another story about this boy.. that he asked you out. This way you can see your parents' reaction to the boy before telling them that you two are together. They should understand. Just do NOT do what I did.. you'll end up not seeing him very often :'(

As long as your friends are willing, go for it!! The only way to overcome the fear of singing for people is to do it. Start off small... with close friends/family. Accept their criticism. Work your way up to put on shows. I use to be just like you. I decided to audition for our school's varsity show choir (one of the best in the state). We had to sing for new and returning members, judges, and our amazing choir instructor. This made me realize that there are several other people like me who was scared. I didn't feel alone anymore. I got up there and belted out my song. They said I was up there (vocally) with the returning members. That gave me confidence in my voice, after thinking I could never do that. Now I sing at bars and audition for anything I can!! Keep these words in mind. Don't hold back. Use the talents God has given YOU, and use them proudly!! Forget all the negatives and focus on what you are good at!! I'm interested in how this will turn out... keep me updated if your band works out and what you guys do!!

I, too, had a problem getting over a guy (an ex-boyfriend). My mind would only focus on him, 24/7 and I would sometimes cry in class. It was terrible!! Sometimes writing your feelings in a letter then ripping it up helps. It's worked a few times for me. I also found someone else to take my mind off of him. I ended up getting to know this boy vey well, went out to eat with some friends, then went to the Winter Sports dance with him. I think you should try to find someone else to take the focus off this boy. It worked for me, so good luck!!

I think sit-ups are a good way to go. Just stay consistent with when you do it, and gradually increase your number. But just a note... I was told that is there so it can expand if you ever get pregnant. This way the stretch marks aren't as bad. I roll my shirt up in soccer practice, but there are girls that refuse to just because their stomachs there are a little "jiggly". So I guess it's not a totally bad thing, but many girls have it so don't stress too much.

Why?? There's no point, and why would you be asking US this?? Nothing is worth the consequences of getting caught. Around here, stealing could result in suspension. That goes on your permanent record, which follows you your whole life. You are still young - go find a new hobby. IF you decide to sink down to this low level and steal (I advise not), good luck in life buddy...

It's different for every person. I find it no different than riding in a car. Though there are those people who take a medication before flying to avoid sickness. The airline always provides bags, just in case it happens. The stewardess will then dispose of the bag. Just make sure you are not riding on an totally empty or completely full stomach. Crackers are a good plane snack for sickness. It also helps me to chew gum while accelerating up (the take-off is my favorite part). It helps relieve the pressure in my ears. Just don't think about the negatives of flying and have fun!!

"Hate" is a powerful word. Nobody deserves to be hated. Sure you can dislike someone, but do not let something they did stay in your mind forever. I wasn't too fond of my ex at the time (he pretty much cheated on me), but I never hated him for it. I forgave him and gave him another chance. Try to find forgiveness. We would all be nothing if everyone hated one another. But if you ABSOLUTELY need a song... try Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats". I find a lot of meaning behind the words. **God Bless**

I was the same way. Then I tried out for varsity show choir, and had to sing in front of a crowd of many aged people. This included the returning (amazing) members and a line of judges. I was shaking very badly. The pianist copied the wrong music of mine, so I was forced to sing half my song a capella. This experience has helped me soooo much!! Now I go to bars and sing karaoke willingly and love it. They actually stopped talking, listened to me, and complimented me after. What sikashimmer said is what I could suggest to you. Your close friends and family will help support you a lot!! And NEVER think of the negatives when you sing. I stay positive and picture the audience as my wall or mirror I sing to at home. Agreed - It was about time for him to go. He got extremely lucky. He's good for his age, but nowhere near American Idol good. I really liked Haley Scarnato, and I was upset when Sanjaya went further than she did. I do think keeping him around a little longer might of helped the show's ratings a bit. I have that feeling that this is not the last of Sanjaya Malakar...

I, too, have the same problem lol. I'd say try it naturally wavy one day. See how that treats you. Have you tried experimenting with different brands of gel/mousse products?? There are some that will work better on your hair type than others. Try to stay away from the shampoo - it helps dry your curly hair out sometimes. Deep conditioners are amazing. Just don't be so self-conscience when it comes to your hair. If everybody says they love it, it probably means it looks good!! I get countless comments on my curly hair and I use to ignore them. I've realized that my close family and best friends would not lie to me about this. They mean it. It IS possible to "train" your hair. Once you find a wavy style you like, stay with it for a few weeks. Your hair will get use to this and it will be easier to style. However, I do straighten my hair a lot. If you decide to do this, find a heat protectant to spray on before. This will help save your hair from getting fried.

I thought that my boyfriend acted like a jerk during the school's musical. I sat down and talked to him and found out that everything was in my head. Please talk to him... don't just dump him because he's acting different for a short period of time. You need to get the full story behind things before you decide if you want to break it off or not. And about his friend: if his looks are the only thing that's luring you into him, he's probably not worth it. Looks aren't everything... just an added bonus sometimes. But if you honestly think you'd be better off with his friend rather than him, calmly explain things to your boyfriend, get to know his friend a little more, and make sure you don't wreck one relationship (like his with his friend) while getting a new one.

Everybody that knows me well will say that I have an upbeat, comical personality. The reason I don't get embarrassed is because I make every mistake of mine into a joke... it fits my personality. I laugh about it with everyone. If you cover up the fact whatever you did was stupid, it won't be so bad. I do also think before I do things. I have a feeling this saves me a lot of "embarrassment". Learn to laugh at yourself and you should be fine.

You should ALWAYS study for a test. Tests are a big part in the final grade (at least in our school). Don't depend on what you think you already learned in class. Sometimes it's better to hear it in class, then read it while studying. I can admit to not studying all the time. I might look over a sheet or two for five minutes, but that's about it. I am, luckily, good at winging things. I do know that in college I can't just wing tests and still expect to get an A. I am getting better at studying though. **Good study habits start now!! What you do (or don't do) now will affect what you do later on in life...

I've told you I think Brandon likes you. Now Taylor... I don't know about. I think the best thing to do about him is just to talk to him more and keep hanging out with him. He'll soon figure out what a great person you are. People change over time, so don't totally judge Taylor by the way he's treated you in the past. Just make sure this isn't a fluke. He could be jealous you're flirting with his best friend. You have to realize that you might have to end up choosing between these two best friends. Whatever happens, try not to end one relationship between someone while starting one of your own. If you must choose, PLEASE don't base everything off of looks. Compare the guys and see which one has the better qualities you like. Which one has mote common interests with you?? *You cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. I was once told that no guy is worth your tears... I went through a *terrible* break-up a little while back. I wrote a letter to him and put in it his locker. In that, I confessed everything and told him how I honestly felt. I think that really helped me get over things. Take a 'Girls Day Out' with your closest friends. It really helps get your mind off your troubles and to just relax. I also threw out many things that reminded me of this boy. I then didn't have to look at them and have memories attached with it. However, I'm not saying you should just forget everything about him forever. Nobody deserves to be forgotten in life. Turn this whole situation into a learning experience. Go ahead and talk to him. There might be a side of the story you don't know. It might be all in your head. It's okay to cry in front of him (I have done it). It helps them see how you really feel and that your emotions are more expressive than he probably thought. You sound like and look like a sweet girl - find someone who treats you right and doesn't confuse you. You're still young. First of all, I'm NOT going to say you are ugly - because you're not. Nobody is ugly. God made us all beautiful in our own spceial way. Your attitude sounds VERY negative about yourself, and I think this might be a reason for your depression. You must always find the most in life... you only live it once. Never look down upon yourself - people have physical features that others would die to have!! You're only 13 so lose the negative attitude and look up on life. Change your attitude and your life will change with it. Somedays I feel like I look better than others. It's all in my head. I actually have thought I've looked like a guy before too (I don't ever wear make-up by the way). IF you want, try make-up but I think people need to realize their natural beauty. Anyway, I outgrew the whole "thinking I was ugly stage" and I see myself as a lady... that's what God made me. And that comment about your skin color... it sounds like THEY are the ones with the problems. Skin color doesn't matter, even in beauty. Anyone can wear AE and Hollister and make it look good. They just need to grow up and learn to respect people. I've learned that if you don't let them (the people who make tease you) see that it hurts you, they back off a little more. Be the role model here and PLEASE don't sink to their level of maturity. Parents set good examples for their children and don't lie to them. Lieing is something no parent should do. Most guys at my high school go for looks. That's so stupid!! If you think looks are the only thing guys like, you're wrong. They don't/shouldn't matter. Like Sam said, just be yourself and someone will love you for you. I heard a quote today that really hit me and it's so true... "You cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them." Please don't change yourself to please guys!! Show them that you have a unique personality and you're fun to be around. Your period is not always regular. There can be events in your life that cause it to skip a turn. Dietary changes, stress, or a new sleeping pattern can also affect your period. There's always a couple different possibilities for a missed/late period. But if there's that chance you think you MIGHT be pregnant, take another test. If it's continually like this and your not pregnant, I suggest seeing a doctor.

I'd just try to talk to him and find out then. Ease it into the conversation... ask who he's interested in these days. If you prefer a sneakier way, I remember this website I was fooled by a few years back. Go to www.crush007.com and follow the directions. You can mail it to him and he'll think it'll calculate his future love life. He'll fill the questions out and the results will be mailed to you!! Most of the time people enter the real stuff, but there's always that small chance he'll lie on it. I don't know what the situation is but try talking to him, or this prank. Keep me updated!!

I definately felt this same way last weekend. I was so confused I actually cried during our musical performances that night. I thought I seemed like a "friend" to him that day - he just woudn't associate with me much. I talked to a friend of his and she made the two of us sit down in a private room and talk. It really helped and I felt so stupid for acting that way (I'm pretty sure I had mood swings and over reacted lol). He didn't mean anything bad - he just saw I was upset and was scared to see what my problem was. Everything is perfect now!! You've said you've talked to him... was it in person or on the phone?? In person means that you can read their facials and body language and fnd out more answers that way. Try talking to him again (or perhaps have a close friend of his talk to him??) He could just be scared to talk like my boyfriend was. I suggest spending time together and seeing where that takes you. Maybe this can help you both figure out if this relationship is worth it.
