FunAdvice Advice from: lavalamp http://www.funadvice.com/my/advice/lavalamp en-us Re: What do you feel about the Miley Cyrus pictures? I think the whole thing was stupid and blown way out of proportion. She was hardly topless - she had a massive sheet covering her, all you could see was her back. The photo wasn't done in a tasteless way and I think she and her family/managers should have stuck to their guns and defended the picture, instead of furiously backtracking and making themselves look like total idiots. lavalamp Sun, 04 May 2008 03:38:02 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/what_do_you_feel_about_the_miley 335002 Re: Is mcdonalds a good place to work? My cousin worked in McDonalds for ages and he loved it. At first he turned his nose up at the prospect but they pay over the minimum wage and are very flexible with the hours you work. I would go for the job :] they're a good company and working in fast food gets you a good bunch of skills - working on the tills/drive-thru/preparing food/cleaning and all while under pressure! It'll be good for your CV! lavalamp Sat, 03 May 2008 15:10:57 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/is_mcdonalds_a_good_place_to_work 334507 Re: Going to an out of country college? If you're not 100% sure why don't you find a course that has an added year abroad? I am going to be studying Russian and in my 2nd year I stay in Moscow, attending University there. My friend is going to study Astronomy and she gets to spend a year in America! It's great because you get to experience a year in a different country with the knowledge that you still get to go home if it doesn't work :] lavalamp Fri, 02 May 2008 05:26:55 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/going_to_an_out_of_country_college 332987 Re: Should I get a tattoo? I love tattoos, so I think if you want one you should get one. It's your body and your choice. But don't rush into getting one, that's what I did and now every time I look at my tattoo I get more annoyed with it - get it in a good location and make sure you're 100% happy with the design as it is with you for life. I think you should be able to easily cover it up - think of your future job - a visible tattoo may not be appropriate. I wish I had found this site before I had my tattoo done :( haha, maybe I would have made a more informed decision! lavalamp Fri, 02 May 2008 05:20:29 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/tattoo_should_i_or_not 332982 Re: Dogs or Cats? :] dogs for sure! In my experience, you can always tell if a dog is going to snap at you but a cat will just attack for no reason and without any warning! Plus the claws on a cat are crazy and very painful. lavalamp Wed, 23 Apr 2008 12:51:41 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/dogs_or_cats 322151 Re: Sharia Law in the UK? :] you're a star, thank you! I think I'll pop over there and throw my opinions at people! lavalamp Tue, 12 Feb 2008 13:27:39 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/sharia_law_in_the_uk 219765 Re: Are you getting tired of US election news in your country? I live in the UK, Wales, and we got a lot of news about the US elections, but it's pretty limited, for example, it's essentially about Clinton or Obama. We don't get much on the Republican side of things! But I'm doing American Government and Politics so I find it super interesting, especially how it's portrayed, "Will you vote for Hilliary because she's a woman or Barack because he's black?" Personally, I think it must be much harder living in the US and coping with the elections :) they seem pretty inescapable! lavalamp Tue, 12 Feb 2008 13:23:11 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/are_you_getting_tired_of_us_election 219760 Re: How much do tongue piercings hurt? My friend had her tongue pierced and she said it didn't hurt at the time, but about 5 minutes later the pain kicked in! Her tongue swelled too. She ended up taking it out after a few days, had her lip done instead. I think eating solid food depends on you, how fast you heal or how well your body reacts to piercings. I think you'll be fine, a lot of people have them so it can't be unbearable! Talk to the piercer first - that's probably the best advice! lavalamp Sat, 19 Jan 2008 15:47:34 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/i_really_i_mean_really_want_to_get 193272 Re: should I get a tatoo or tatoos? :] I got my first tattoo when I was 16 and I had it done in such a grubby, nasty little place. I'm pretty sure the tattooist didn't use a clean needle. Gosh, it makes me shudder just thinking about what I could have caught. Think about your future - some employers don't like tattoos! And think about the design and location. My one is slap bang in the middle on my inner arm! I didn't listen to anyone and just dived in :] as young people do, I suppose! Haha. I've learned my lesson now though! But yeah, if you want one go for it, but think hard! Give it a few more years maybe? Good luck with whatever you do! lavalamp Sat, 19 Jan 2008 15:39:54 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/should_i_get_a_tatoo_or_tatoos 193260 Re: Who is best for this Country? Not Hilliary, please not Hilliary. She is quite obviously the spawn of the devil! :] McCain was alright in my opinion, but then almost every political ad I watched of his contained stuff about his participation in the Vietnam War and that annoyed me! I like Obama and I was rooting for Gravel. :] lavalamp Sat, 19 Jan 2008 14:37:57 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/who_is_best_for_this_country 193192 Re: shorten my period I went on the pill when I was 15 to stop my period pains, make them regular and lighter and it worked. My pains have lessened a lot and I know exactly what day I will come on and when I'll be off - my periods only last about 4 days now, and it's very light. You may want to consider it, talk to your doctor :) lavalamp Sat, 19 Jan 2008 14:10:12 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/shorten_my_period 193151
