Lately, my grandmother, who is in her seventies, got a heart attack in Italy and is fine. However, a few months ago she was complaining about her leg hurting so we went to get her checked up. It turns out that they had to amputate her leg. It was very emotional and she'd say things like, "why me?" or, "why did god do this to me?" My whole family prays for her and tries comforting her but being a single mother of 4 and a single grandmother of 6 isn't easy. It always is hard for someone who has gone through a struggle like having a family member with cancer to get over it. And sometimes friends dont understand that. Now, to answer your question, do fun stuff with her. You can either take her mind off it, or look at the positive side of it. Try things like visiting her grandmother and making get well cards or print out brochures of the cures for cancer. You can also print out short stories of people who have gone through cancer and been cured. Try things like fundraising for cancer research, like carwashes and coin drives! Look at the positives!
