Re: What can I use from around the house as a sex toy?

Why don't you just buy a sex toy? Surely there's a store around where you live that caters, right? Much more fun, healthy, and safe than using some household item, don't you think?

Re: Why is pot illegal while aspirin is legal?

I think if someone wants to post a topic in the "politics" section of this site, they should learn how to spell the word "would." Anyway, contrary to popular belief, reefer is pretty bad for you. Maybe you should do a little research as well as learn to spell before you post a topic like this one.

Re: How do you defend religion?

Patron of Death? I must say, that's an interesting name for a Christian. What exactly is your religion? I'm happily an Atheist, and when someone asks my why I believe what I believe, I tell them that there's no proof to suggest a higher power. When someone asks you why you believe in God, you simply say because there's no proof that one doesn't exist. How simple is that? I think the thing the separates you, the Christian, from me, the Atheist, is that you have faith in what you believe in, and I cannot. I also really enjoy what the underwater person said about it being what you believe, and that you should not need to defend it. However, I do understand the need to make others understand your feelings on the subject.

Re: What's up with the "banned" words?

I appreciate the answer. Even if the word "gay" were being used as slang, it's wrong to censor since this is also a sexual orientation. I wrote advice the other day about masturbation, which was filtered, which I also think is a bit silly, but since they just stick an asterick in some of the letters' places, it's not too big a deal for me. Thanks for answering!

Re: Is anyone else an Army wife?

I'm not an army wife, I'm a marine corp girlfriend. My boyfriend and I started dating when we were seniors in high school, March 2004 (in a town you may know, Leesville, Louisiana, a mile away from Ft. Polk... Pray you don't get stationed there.) and two years later, July 2006, he decided to join the marines. So now, August 2007, three and a half years into our relationship and a year and a half into his four of enlistment, we're working (and succeeding) to keep our relationship going strong and healthy. (This separation is necessary because I'm finishing college and would probably break my mother's heart if I were to marry before I got my degree.) My one is stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, and is scheduled to deploy to Iraq in late September, early October. The only thing that makes this easier for me is the leave he'll have before he goes and when he gets back. Since he left, we've been able to see each other routinely every three months, but when he goes, we're going to deal with our longest period without seeing each other since we started dating (I won't mention our ten year friendship before our dating began.). Anyway, I enjoyed this post greatly, it's nice to commiserate with someone who knows what I'm going through, for the most part! I hope your story is lovely.

Re: What are your political views?

I'm with you on the liberal stance. I'm a heterosexual female who believes in equal rights for ALL. I also recently took a class (it was advanced composition, but my teacher was a morbid liberal!!) which really made me question my beliefs and my values on things like gay marriage. I understand what the issue is, wanting equality and respect, as all human beings are entitled. The problems with conservatives is their opposition to change. And the Bible, let me say. I'm athiest, and while the Bible provides me with some good entertainment, I hardly plan to live my life by it. Those conservatives are sticking to it, instead of adopting an open mind. You're right, too, that action needs to be taken for more action to take place. That's just the way it is. Luckily, gay marriage is legal in some states and even other countries. Change happens, it just takes a couple decades to really see it. Anyway, I really enjoyed reading your post. I'll try to figure out how to add you as a friend!

I think that that's completely wrong. The g-a-y lifestyle should be introduced at young ages, so that this contempt and segregation of homosexuals will end. I really hope that there's a reason beyond young minds to this.

Re: Why do famous people get paid more than heroes?

Naive is the operative word, here, I must say. What's stopping our nation from higher paying salaries for public service employees is the same thing that's keeping our nation from universal healthcare. The whole of the nation does not want higher taxes. We're willing to martyr ourselves with words, but unwilling to put our money where our mouths are. I speak collectively because if everyone wanted higher wages for firefighters and policemen, then we'd be taking action. But that's not happening, we're just sitting by watching them risk their lives for low wages. If they'd wanted high pay, then they would have gone into another industry, mrsperez.

But that's NOT the way it is. People want good public services, but are unwilling to pay higher taxes, and celebrities make they money that they do because we provide them with it. Honestly, the whole concept is easy to understand, even if it may be totally screwed up.

I got my tongue pierced a few years ago and man, did it hurt. I love it, and I'm so glad I got it, but I wouldn't do it again. Now I got my nose pierced about a week and a half ago, and I love it, and I WOULD do it again.
Re: How can you be sure that there are no mistakes in the Bible?

The answer to your question, I believe, is faith. Now, I'm Athiest, as well as a skeptic, but I know many Christians, and I've enjoyed reading my share of the Bible. What those Christians have that I lack is faith. They believe in God, and all those other things, just because. There may be irrefutable evidence stating that there is no God, but that will not convince them, only make their resolve stronger. Faith is something that I find hard to understand. I guess mine is a scientific mind, but I need some kind of hard proof if I plan on believing something. The Bible is not it for me. There are so many things in there that go against my moral grain, that I almost shun it. Where is the social equality in the Bible, for example? I'll end my discussion here, but yeah, I have to say that faith is the one thing that any Christian is required to have, and if they don't, they are not a true Christian.

Re: Why do famous people get paid more than heroes?

This seems to me a naive question.. Public service jobs are almost always going to be low paying, mostly because those jobs rely on taxes for their income. Surgeons, I have to point out, usually make a good amount of money. Actors and actresses, however, are working in a field that pleases the people, and that's a high-paying corporation.. The same can be said about microsoft, nintendos, and etc. The people pleasing jobs are almost always going to be the better paying. You're helping to pay for Julia Roberts' salaray when you go to the theater and see one of her movies.

Re: What if I'm scared to be anorexic?

I really feel like smacking the person who says they want to be anorexic. Seriously, I'm glad you're on the smart side. If exercise isn't working to help you to lose weight, you should talk to your family doctor.. There is something wrong if your dieting and exercising isn't producing results. (Not SERIOUSLY wrong, now.) However, I wish to point out that people who carry a little extra baggage can be beautiful, you just have to be confidant. Low self-esteem is as bad as an "L" stamped on your forehead. People know something's wrong, even if they don't know what. Anyway, I know that that doesn't help much. You have to be really comfortable with yourself for that to work. Try to get to that point without killing yourself on a tredmill. I hope you can lose weight if that's really your goal, and I hope you do it safely.

Re: How in the world did you become an advisor?

I appreciate all the response, I was really curious.. sexlovingchick is so young, however, that I just find it so hard to believe that she's so dead set on the things she says about herself. What I really found appalling was the bad language. I mean, I'm twenty-one, I KNOW I'm a youngster, but I also don't "accentuate" my language by the use of profanity, and I believe that I raise myself a notch or two because of it. I applaud the giving of good advice, but I discourage the use of the term "advisor" when you're going to set a bad example.

Re: Why is my girlfriend's period irregular?

I see you've already had several answers to this question. I have to say, being a female who used to have irregular periods, that it could be anything, most of which are not serious at all. Stress can make a person's period fluctuate as well as hormones. Getting on birth control can greatly diminish the irregularity of her period. Now if she's already on her period, or it is accompanied by strange discharge, she should see her gynecologist as soon as possible in case it's something more serious. I hope this helped!

Re: Do Monroe piercings scar?

I hate reading answers that have not given advice whatsoever.. However, I have to tell you that I think that those piercings are hot, and I'm so for them. Not to mention that you look like you could so pull it off. I've had plenty of piercings in my day, and all of them have a scar of some sort. My navel, though the ring's been gone for two years now, can still wear a ring, and my tongue has a hole when I remove it. My boyfriend's nose is still marked where he'd had it done for about a week. So no matter what you do, you're going to have a scar. The question is whether or not it's important enough to you to get one.

I don't have my nose pierced, I actually came across this page because I plan on doing it within the next day or two and wanted to get informed on the idea. In my scant hour of researching, I found that you should never get a body piercing with a piercing gun, for various reasons explained before me. Anyway, I want my nose pierced, and am surfing around for comparisons of pain to tongue piercings. I got my tongue pierced about three years ago, and remember the pain very well, and want to know if nose is better or worse in comparison.
