FunAdvice Advice from: kaman25 http://www.funadvice.com/my/advice/kaman25 I am a 45 year old single man. I have worked with computers both Mac and Windows since 1986. I am disabled, I like TV and Talk Radio en-us Re: What is your opinion on Armageddon in 2012? If Jesus wins then why fight the war? Unless it's to establish who is good and who is evil by the side they take. Both the Ancient Mayas' calendar and Nastradaumus independant of each other predicted that the "end" will come in that latter part of the year 2012. There is a 13th astrological sign...Ophiuchus (the snake handler). His symbol is the sign of healing found on the medical crest. The sun hasn't risen in his sign for 13,000 years. The sun will rise in that sign which is also the center of two crosses. The astrological and the terrestrial in gues when... The latter part of 2012 What large mammals roamed the Earth approximately 13,000 years ago? They were gone in the relative blink of an eye and there is still debate why. I can pretty much say Jesus didn't come down, sort them out between good and evil, take the good ones away and banish the bad ones to Hell. There will be a "healing" of the Earth in the months between the second week of November and the Second week in December of the year 2012. Whether that be a great war, a great Earthquake, a meteorite or "pole reversal", where North and South become East and West. Ouch! That's gotta hurt! kaman25 Sat, 29 Dec 2007 08:26:18 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/what_is_your_oppinion_on_the_armageddon 170159 Re: How do I get the excess weight off my face? Smile! Smiling uses more of the muscles of the face then frowning does. Also take two hard rubber balls and roll them on your neck while making 'kissy faces' (do this alone at home). You can also rub your face over the sinus to reduce the puffiness of all that mucus. Sorry if you were eating and reading that. kaman25 Fri, 10 Aug 2007 07:35:26 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/how_do_i_get_the_excess_weight_off 82203 Re: How can I tone stomach flab? Men naturally have a Pheckulem, a natural layer of fat about the waist it's part of what we are. BUT you can keep that from getting out of hand with a simple exercise. Lay on a mat or on a hard surface as if you were going to do a sit up. Hands behind your head, *sit-ups are hard on the chest walls so don't do them*. Instead cross your legs at the ankles and lift your knees to your chest. Do five reps 3 times a week (along with your regular routine) and you'll be wearing a rubber band for a belt sooner then you think! kaman25 Fri, 10 Aug 2007 07:30:42 -0700 http://www.funadvice.com/q/tumy_lifting 82199 Re: tweak to make my internet faster Make sure your computer is cleaned of spyware, virus, cookies, histories. Make sure your Registry is cleaned. I use CCleaner (www.filehippo.com), SpybotS&D (www.dowload.com) and Regseeker (www.hoverdesk.net). Then go to www.filehippo.com and download Zilla Connection Wizard. Pick your connection type and hit next until the wizard is done. Restart your computer and watch the speed! All the afore mentioned programs are free and I get nothing for the endorsement. Enjoy! kaman25 Sat, 25 Nov 2006 12:28:38 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/tweak_to_make_my_internet_faster 28257 Re: How do you clean a tv remote control? You can buy a universal control for less then $10 (I see them in the dollar store for a dollar) then toss out the old remote. If you want you can try this: AT YOUR OWN RISK. Take out the batteries and put the remote in the dishwasher. Top rack. Use no soap. After the wash cycle is over lay it buttons down on a paper towel for 2 days to make sure it's dry. DO NOT DRY IT IN THE DISHWASHER OR IT WILL MELT! You might could use a hair dryer but be careful. Again do this carefully and only at your own risk!!!!! kaman25 Sat, 25 Nov 2006 12:14:57 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/how_do_you_clean_a_tv_remote_control 28256 Re: email sign in The best way to enter passwords anywhere is with www.roboform.com/ kaman25 Sat, 25 Nov 2006 11:51:15 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/email_sign_in 28252 Re: I can not control my wireless mouse pointer, it is moving by itself Your computer has help for people who's hands shake so the setting causes your mouse pointer to jump to where it thinks you will want to click. Like an OK button for instance. To turn that off goto start>programs>accessories>accessability and go through the wizard. You also might be lifting your mouse slightly when you are moving it around. Doing that will make the ball drop or the red light beam off in weird directions. kaman25 Sat, 25 Nov 2006 11:27:03 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/my_mouse_pointer 28249 Re: I see a red x instead of a picture in an email The red x means that the link points to a picture that is not there. Sometimes someone will want to send you a picture and instead they send you their shortcut to the picture, since your computer doesn't know where the picture is it will show you a red x. If the attachment size says "Picture Name.jpg (1K)" that is not a picture. kaman25 Sat, 25 Nov 2006 11:21:40 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/red_x_3731 28248 Re: Why do batteries blow up? Heat will destroy a battery. Take the cover off the battery charger (break it if you have to), As rechargeable batteries get older they get hot! Don't set your battery charger on a cloth or rug. Keep it away from heat sources. Keep "regular" batteries away from rechargeables do not mix them up in a device. For instance if you have a protable DVD player that takes 4 AA batteries don't put in 2 alkaline and 2 rechargeables. Or more then the batteries will blow up! On 9V batteries the + and - are next to each other. Do not let metal touch both leads at the same time. Don't put 9V or battery packs in your pocket full of change! I did that once... Just once! kaman25 Sat, 25 Nov 2006 11:12:29 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/why_do_batteries_blow_up 28246 Re: Protecting a small network Change everyone's password, make sure you change the router password (if it's wireless). Tell everyone that the computer room will be locked up unless the activity stops. For kids under 18 you are big brother. kaman25 Sat, 25 Nov 2006 11:04:39 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/protecting_a_small_network 28244 Re: Free virus remover Spam is unsolicted email. A virus is a small program that produces unwanted results. A spam blocker will not block a virus and a virus blocker will not block spam. Do not open spam emails and do not run attachments. Spyware is not a virus it just tracks where you go on the web so you can get more spam. It's annoying and comes in pretty packages (like "Smiley Central"), So don't download "free" programs for your computer. There are two safe places to download. http://www.download.com and http://www.filehippo,com/ If you and/or your son would like to play games and see ads with no spyware (and earn money) try http://www.kerclink.com/AffTrack.htm?MID=116006 *no spyware! P.S. The best firewall is your brain! kaman25 Sat, 25 Nov 2006 11:01:02 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/free_virus_remover 28243 Re: Stiff neck from working on the computer too much? The top of your monitor needs to be at your forehead's level and directly in front of you. Sit up strait, don't slouch. keep your butt,, spine and neck aligned. Proper posture is the key to a pain free computer life. See the microsoft website for proper monitor placement. kaman25 Sat, 25 Nov 2006 10:51:08 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/stiff_neck_from_working_on_the_computer 28242 Re: Strange behavior with my computer monitor, how to fix? Someone resized your IE window. Double click the (usually blue) bar and see if the window maximizes. You can also go to download.com and get IEMaximizer. It is a little program that makes sure your windows open fully. kaman25 Sat, 25 Nov 2006 10:46:24 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/strange_behavior 28241 Re: Mac or PC? Get a mac laptop and a PC desktop. Mac will run PC software but not the other way around kaman25 Sat, 25 Nov 2006 10:43:49 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/mac_or_pc 28239 Re: potty traning My only advice is not to teach "boys stand up and girls sit down" or else you are going to have a boy with #2 running down his legs because he doesn't want to "sit like a girl!" Oh an float some "Fruit Loops" in the toilet for boys to aim at. It teaches them not to pee on the seat or floor. Plus you can play a color learning game "Shoot the red one!" kaman25 Sat, 25 Nov 2006 10:41:44 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/potty_traning 28238 Re: Instant Messanger Go to http://www.skype.com/ It's an excellent IM program! Do you like sharing files legally? Want to meet friends with similar interests? How about http://www.grouper.com/! I get nothing for mentioning these programs. I am just giving advice. Enjoy! kaman25 Sat, 25 Nov 2006 10:27:22 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/instant_messanger 28237 Re: Internet video problems on the computer After you update your software, Flash player, Java, and of course visit Microsoft.com for your computer updates. Then go to Divx.com and download the video player (which will give you all the drivers). Make sure you allow ActiveX controls (they are not ALL bad). Hope this helps. kaman25 Sat, 25 Nov 2006 10:23:19 -0800 http://www.funadvice.com/q/video_problems 28236
